Climbing Mt everest? Playing a D1 college sport? Killing a state record deer/catching a state record fish? Running a marathon? Benching 400lbs? Dating Miss Alabama?
Bragging is ******y. I'd be proud of any of those though (minus the benching 400 lbs or dating Miss Alabama....)
When I do something cool, and I am excited about it, I like to tell people (human nature). Taking a state record would be cool, but unless it was the only fish in the pond or only animal in a small fenced in area, the vast majority of that feat is luck. You were lucky enough to harvest that animal. It's cool when you do something you previously could not do, but after the initial happiness, time to let it go. What I really hate are the "one-uppers", the guys who if you catch an 18" crappie, the caught a 21". If you shot a 190 class buck, they'd tell you about the 200 class they shot.....
Knocking out Mike Tyson. Knocking up Scarlett Johansson. I'd pat myself on the back for either one. :D
I think doing it now would still be brag worthy. I'd probably brag about knocking out Ali....now. How I roll.
I should clarify my view from my original post; when people complete a task for reason's other than self-gratification, and feel the need to let others know, they are indeed a d*uche. Eaxmple: I had a roommate in college that would receive a job offer, come to the room I was in and sit down, tell me about said offer and $$$ he would be making, then get up and leave the room. Complete d*uche (than again he is 5'2" so that may have something to do w/ it).
OK... I will take Catherine Webb and the record deer/fish...providing they were in the same year. Otherwise I will probably go with Mt Everest. Now if all three were accomplished in the same year I would say your nuts to waste time climbing Everest when you could be fishing/hunting and...entertaining Miss Webb.
Plan to have one of those accomplished in June. I don't own enough plates to do a 300lb bench right now, so I'm stuck at 255 2 sets of 5 at the end of a 5 sets (still wouldn't be able to get close to 300lbs yet). While that sounds like bragging, it's nowhere near impressive considering there are 1000's out there who can do that and more. I try not to brag because in reality, for every great accomplishment you make, there's many more out there who can do the same and better...remember that:D
