So what do you think will be the downfall of this country? And how far away are we?

Most business owners won't, because their money is still green.

By not respecting the owner's clearly displayed beliefs, they have no right to receive respect back.
So the owner politely explains that this is against their religious beliefs and denies the request. The next day they start receiving death threats from the gay and lesbian community. Then late in the day they are notified that the ACLU is representing the gay men in a law suit against the family. Have their rights been violated now?

Dude, I get it. I understand that you don't believe in God. That's fine, I'm not a religious person myself, but I will fight to defend the rights of those that are.

If you believed in God, you would think of the bible and the 10 commandments of a type of constitution, laws set forth by your forefathers, like we think of our constitution. I used the words belief because not everyone believes the same thing. They have faith that what they believe is real and is truth, and was laid down as law a couple thousand years ago. Their law trumps the laws of a government that's less than 230 years old. How can you not understand that?

More on populations: looking at India and China; decades of forced abortions of female fetuses, will cause a severe shortage of young marriage aged females. Russia has just the opposite problem, with young men drinking themselves to death at 35. In the end there will be a huge influx of Russian women in China and India.

In Japan we had more than (Okay, mostly my wife) a dozen middle-aged unmarried female friends. Most would rather remain independent than be under the thumb of a husband and his family. Japan is still a largely closed society...they are in big trouble.

Has nothing to do with any of this.

I mean...is this not forcing one's beliefs onto others? That is all I'm saying. If a church is willing to marry a gay couple, that church should be allowed to marry them, just as that church should be able to not marry them. It's quite simple.

Well in this hypothetical scenario, the only way their rights would be violated is if they were forced to let the couple marry in their restaurant. Which they would not be. It would never win in court.

We've been over this. Religious people believe marriage is a religious union, only to be done in accordance with their religion. It's really a pretty simple concept, the governments roll in marriage in really none existent. The government has decided to step in and say they are in charge of allowing marriages, and taxed the people that want to get married in the form of a marriage license and decided to allow justice of the peace to perform "marriages". This type of marriage is not recognized by the church as marriage, but more of a civil union, which is what gay marriage should be called since it is sanctioned by the government and not the church. If this is how gay marriage was approached, I really don't believe there would have been near the backlash.

Fine, but if a church marries them, they are going against what most religious people believe the bible is telling them.

And that is fine. That is up to that church. But they should be allowed to make that judgement.

Turning to the question of gay marriage...it should be clear that the principal reason for the institutionalization of marriage is procreation and the training/upbringing (within the family) of the next generation of citizens.

When the coercion started, the rights of the restaurant owners are violated as the couple enlisted assistance from others to try and get the owners to buckle under. Unfortunately, this is NOT a hypothetical scenario. It is an ongoing situation where the ACLU is claiming that the owners are denying based on sexual orientation. However, the First Amendment also says that no law will be passed that impedes the free exercise of religion which this would be.
So now it has been shown that the gay community is just as, if not more intolerant than, the people of faith. So, now we return to my first question back to you, what is so funny?

Kinda like how people of faith get lumped as one. Weird how it works both ways.
