So what do you think will be the downfall of this country? And how far away are we?

    Politicians you mean.

I don't try and force my opinion on anyone, but I'll damn sure tell you what it is and why I believe it. You can do what you want with that information.

Come now, it was the gay lobby that was interested in forcing a new concept down our throats.

The problem with the gay issue is there are parties on BOTH sides that refuse to respect the rights of the others. There are gays who do not want to respect the rights of those of faith and there are those of faith that don't want to respect the rights of the gays. No one right out trumps another and people need to learn to live with people that don't agree with them.

Socialism is really a greater degree of the curtailment of freedom at the hands of government interference. The question is really a matter of comparative freedoms...so if we compare those countries to Cuba; you have a sound argument: when compared to other countries, not so much.

Exactly whose rights are the gays infringing upon by wanting the right of marriage?

I would say it's the people that believe marriage is a union sanctioned by the church, not the government. It's a fundamental difference in how each side thinks. Supporters of gay marriage believe the government is granting them the ability to get married and have equal rights under law. Those that are against gay marriage believe that marriage is sanctified by the church and god, and therefore cannot be acceptable because it goes against the beliefs spelled out in the bible.

A gay couple walks into a restaurant owned and operated by a traditional Mennonite family. They are greeted by the daughters wearing the traditional dresses and headwear. They ask to speak to the mother and tell her they want to get married at the restaurant. Have they infringed on the owners religious freedoms by asking a person who is devoted to both the Old and New Testaments to violate their religious beliefs by hosting a gay marriage?

You're wasting time trying to argue those points with Hooker.

Church has nothing to do with State or Federal government laws, nor should it ever. So what's the problem?
