I was just making a point.

I am, in no way, advocating socialism. I just don't think it would be the demise of this country. And I, in no way, believe the US will ever approach a true socialist country.

 

According to their names they are not. They are the Republic of Cuba, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the People's Republic of China. In true socialism, the government owns the businesses and industries and all are paid equal wages for work. True socialism will not work because without incentive for a better life, initiative dies followed by a slow disintegration of the government and the populace falling into poverty. How would you feel if you were paid no more than the dishwasher at the truck stop? The other issue with socialism is that the one's running the government feel they are entitled to more than the rest and this leads to further corruption and a split between the "haves" and "have nots" the same as in capitalism.

Denmark, Sweden and Canada are all monarchies. They may have socialized health, but they are not socialist countries.

Most of the countries that are considered as socialist, are also considered communist by many. When you socialize healthcare, many people on both sides of the political spectrum would consider that socialism.

 

I think what people referring to socialism as our downfall, should maybe more like the "Nanny State" of our federal government. The growing intrusion into every possible aspect of our lives that the federal government seems think they need to control. We have gotten away from what our founding fathers intended. They did not intent on the federal government micromanaging every aspect of our lives. We have completely gotten away from states rights, and what is not specifically written in the constitution is to be left up to the individual states.

 

Not enough people knowing how to survive on their own when the $h*t hits the fan for real. I think I could make it longer than most.

Fear is the real answer IMO, Fear gave us the Patriot Act. Fear has us spending 26 more times on defenses than our closes Allie, Fear has us vote for "a" party rather than the man.

So I guess my answer is Fear

 

The Obamacare is socialism at it's core have the people with pay for the people without. The downfall of this country happened back when they talked about having a debt ceiling. If you have a imaginary credit limit there is no reason to keep it just keep raising it as needed with no clue on how to pay it back. Let's just keep borrowing money to spiral the country into bankruptcy and let a real communist country control the U.S. Is this in my future? I hope not but it is in the future if we don't take our country back from these parasites that sponge off the working class including the people that run the country.

 

So who owns the healthcare system?

 

Honestly our whole economic system scares me. The idea that a piece of paper has value that is assigned to it will eventually be our downfall. It works as long as everyone continues to buy into it but to think the whole system isn't vulnerable to complete collapse is not realistic I don't think.

I couldn't give you exact #'s but most of the health care is privately owned and un-regulated for cost. The Catholics own a lot of the hospitals here. Obamacare is a half measure they are only trying to fix part of the problem.

 

So I take it you don't believe that the Federal Government is bloated and has their hands in too many cookie jars at once. Interesting....

 

Democrats believing in socialism and communism and will feed the weak and lazy with tax dollars to get themselves elected to make themselves rich and powerful.

Yes, the government is too big. Americans in general do not believe in personal freedoms anymore, especially if they do not believe in those freedoms. Conservatives and liberals are just a bunch of hypocrites trying to force their ideals onto others.

 

Conservatives don't generally "force" anything on anyone though you're spot on about lieberals.
