I always take the week before gun season to try to bag a buck during the rut. I never see one before that. So, I'm sitting in the stand last Tuesday, looking for a big, juicy doe for the freezer, and in walks the dominate buck of the woods. He didn't walk out.

I could have shot 2 more bucks last night, but I only have a doe tag left. The rut is definitely a little early here in lower Mid-Michigan.

I take the same week off hooter. So far I haven't had your problem yet but if I do I will try & shoot a few pheasants or possibly stick another doe.

Nice buck! What county were you hunting? I hunted this pass weekend Friday deer were moving no bugs guys though and same as Saturday I got the nice ones on camera at night but nothing during the day. And surprisingly as cold as it was Sunday it was dead in the woods.

    Congrats again!

I hunt lower Ionia County. My wife's ex-brother-in-law loves me to hunt his farm about 10 miles away. A great transition area.

Definitely going to go for another doe. My extended family loves the venison.
