As a spin off from the other thread, what 'Basics' would you guys teach to a person just learning how to shoot?

With a light weight bow I would teach him:

    (1) Gap Shooting
    (2) Double Anchor
    (3) Back Tension

Then again, I only find archery fun if I'm actually hitting what I aim at :deer:

Jeff nailed it! The back tension might be a bit tough for a beginner.

I'll add follow thru, this is what helped me the most, I hold it until after my arrow hits what I'm looking at!

The big thing to me Is don't think too much when starting out, just do It!! Get the muscles In tune 1st and don't worry where your arrows are hitting.

Don't short draw, hit your anchor point
    Have consistent anchor points
Follow through- keep that bow arm up after the shot
    Smooth release's

Stance, gripping and hooking, bow shoulder set, bow elbow rotation, setup, draw, anchor, transfer, hold, aim, expansion, release, and follow through.
