When perceptions superceed statements then prejudice over rides wisdom.
Dont ask a man a question if you wont like his answer to it.

I really wish Obama was not black so that wouldn't cloud judgement .... but then, he would not be president ....at least not for a second term...

Two problems are a weak economy and big financial hole (which most administrations have contributed to). Clinton raised the idea, but under O, the vision (ACA) really came to be. And like the other big ongoing programs has a huge cost. So he gets the credit and the blame.

A problem is the ACA assumed the gov't would effectively offer a healthcare safety net, but assumed companies would continue to offer employer sponsored insurance (ESI).

IF/Once companies realize its cheaper to pay the fine for not offering employer sponsored insurance (ESI), OR if less are employed, the Fed has a bigger bill.

Mckinsey study of 6/11 indicated 30% definitely/probably drop ESI even before the real changes/impacts were implemented. 2011 Medicaid Actuarial estimate for FY2011 was 56.1M, but participation was 70.4 (all time high). Similar problem with programs like foodstamps.

The cost of the Federal programs, budgets and debt all rise. I would doubt few participating would opt to give up any programs or voluntarily accept reduced levels of funding/service.

It is what it is, but it is exacerbated by high unemployment and a crappy economy.

The good news (for now) is the Fed has not defaulted, still has good credit, the debt it issues is still desired and the government can operate in a way individuals and companies cannot. once these factors change, or a host of wildcards (see earlier post) come into play things could get real interesting.

And if we want to add race back into the discussion we can ignore the presidents color and talk about the 10-15M illegal aliens (excluding Canadians). (I am kidding)

Not hard to explain. What exactly were his qualifications in 2008? On paper, was he a strong candidate to lead the free world?

On Monday, the Inquirer reported that in 59 of Philadelphia's "divisions" -- these are subsets of wards, wherein fewer than 1,000 people might be registered to vote -- GOP nominee Mitt Romney failed to win even a single vote. Collectively, the votes for Obama across these divisions added up to 19,605, to Romney's zero.

"I don't find it hard to believe that there are neighborhoods in the United States where President Obama got 97 to 99 percent of the vote -- basically all African-Americans," said Michael Barone, a Fox News contributor who is the longtime editor of The Almanac of American Politics. "There are such neighborhoods, and you can see them in central-city, black ghetto (areas)."

Not sure what your contribution is but my company and $taff contribute quite a bit to fixing things.

Not sure if a study has been done but I'm pretty sure every program and every government official get their pay check by some evil corporations taxes, pay roll taxes, etc.

Without getting into a Democrat or Republican thing nor an Obama/Romney thing...lets just focus on the policies/laws. This country IS becoming more socialist.

My point was to show how loyal some voting blocks are to their beliefs while others seem more diverse in how they view the direction leadership should take in getting this country on the right track.
    I wonder why that is?

That's not the point guys, instead of whining why a certain group did not vote your way and making excuses, go talk to the African American community and listen, go talk to Hispanics and listen. Teach them what it means to be a conservative. Mike Huckbee got 49% African American vote when he ran for gov. He explained I went and listen and talk to them and explained how being a conservative can help in ones life.

I think that approached worked a bit better than saying "I don't care about 47%"

It seems he underestimated the % at 47 in some areas by better than 100%, I guess that leaves some room for improvement.
Maybe in 4 years the GOP can get a black guy to run.

Guys re-read what you post and try to read in the context of a minority black man or Hispanic.

You should see why conservatives will never get their vote, listen to rush, hannity and others in the same way. It's real easy to see where the issues are.

Conservative values are not the problem, but those preaching those values really suck at communicating those to those groups.

What is better is people should be taught in school about the foundations of America and what it means to live here based on the Constitution. The foundation/principles that have been laid down for nearly 250 years are our guiding forces, not some knee jerk reaction to the economy plummeting and people buying into the quick fix schemes. We need to stay the course and resist changing everything toward a more socialist country, yes even if that means some people will be uncomfortable and life will be hard for them.

I get a little tired of "reach out to the black community, reach out to the such and such community" like they are all clones of on another. It is rather insulting.
