My droid has been acting absolutely nuts the last few weeks. Random texts and calls from people I have no clue who they are. Out of the blue started hearing a police scanner. Flip it open sometimes and it fades in and out. Loses connection...shuts off for no particular reason, etc...... So I'm on an important call the other day(and in a bad mood), the thing squawks at me, hangs up and shuts off. I was standing in the middle of the 8th fairway with my steel toed boots. I decided I'd had enough and was going to run to verizon to get a new phone because I couldn't take it anymore. So I decided to drop kick it and punt it down the fairway. Put a really good foot into it and got about 50 yards or so with some very nice height. I was actually quite impressed with the solid strike. So I picked up the remainging parts and headed to verizon. After picking out the new phone I wanted the verizon dude informed me my 2 year upgrade isn't due until October 20th. Super! He recommended I call somebody to see if they have an old phone I could use and have activated until then. Hey dip****.... how do you think I call someone with half a phone? Anyway... I ended up finding one from the prehistoric era that I have to use for another month! moral of the story.... be sure before you kick.
I no longer work for Verizon but I have a plan You are within a month, they will give you an early upgrade unless you want the iPhone5 since it will be in the Iconic Portal. Tell them you will cancel if they don't upgrade and remind them of many loyal years of service and all the people you directly work with through the Golf Course. If needed get the Manager on the line and get them to change the upgrade date or approve an M2(Manager Exception 2 year upgrade. If that fails ask for their Associate Director and let them know you will not back down, the loser Supervisor will likely make you wait a couple of days to hear back if they even pass it along. If that AD doesn't call you back in 24 hours call back and when the rep answers advise you want the Call Center Director on the line. There is no way it will happen but if you keep demanding in a nice way with no foul language they can't hang up. Say you are frustrated because the Supervisor and AD blew you off and VZW doesn't value your business. Tell them at this point you are just going to send communication to Nancy Clark and share the frustration you have had with nobody wanting to assist you or call you back. ....If that fails go right to Nancy http://aboutus.verizonwireless.com/leadership/executive/profiles/Nancy_Clark.html The link will likely get filtered to Executive Relations in PA or NY, they will jump up and down to make you happy once they get your complaint and might even let you get an iPhone5.
You gotta work around some of these tools that work at the phone store. Within a few weeks and they won't bump it is ridiculous. AT&T bumped my 2 year upgrade by 10 months when my first iPhone woke up in a solo cup of beer, which is another story in itself.
