what needs to be looked at is what is being mandated on small businesses. Obama is touting a 35% tax break to insure employees, that leaves the owner with 65% of the coverage they more than likely cannot afford, and face penalties if you don't. Also mandates coverage on part time employees, seasonal employees. This is death for small businesses. Doing nothing wasn't a good option but it wasbetter than this bill. Mandating an american citizen to buy any thing is just scary. What is the emperor going to mandate next?
x2. I'm a 3rd yr business management major, looking to eventually taking over my dad's small business. I'm scared for all small business owners.
Dam Dude, It is what it is! Thats what I call people that get caught with and take illegal Drugs. You can call him hero for all I care, just don't expect me to buy into it. I don't need to dispell nothing, the guy makes fun of wounded soldiers, and crippled people, he is lower than a piece of whale chit in my book. LOL Get real, you and Rush are not spokepersons for other countrys with nationalized helthcare. I have been around the world several times and those people can't belive we have to pay for ours. You show me a few people that say they don't like it, when there is hunderds of millions of people that do, again get real folks. Hell when this thing started last year 83% of the people polled wanted healthcare reform, what does that tell you. People Die in this country every year because they dont have health insurance. As far as someone coming from Canada for an operation here, we got people going to India to get them. If they don't have money to get an operation in Canada who is paying for it here. Any one think No healthcare is better than VA Healthcare. I was glad to get mine when I needed it. As far as the VA goes, email your Republican representatives and ask them why, their the ones that continuously try to deny or cut VA funding.
I don't walk lockstep with Limbaugh, Bush or anyone else. So, when you address something I've (or another conservative) says.....don't attempt to dispell points with associating us with them. That's a PITIFUL response. Case in point. Now go back and answer the question. To a point, I don't doubt that. I'm sure there's a contingency in any country that LOVES the fact that someone else is supporting them. I don't think the US is any different. The thing you're missing, here....is the US is NOT a democracy. That's what's wrong with us, now. We've got the "do nothing" class voting themselves entitlements that someone else has to pay for. That's not fair. How long can we give them what they want.....and not worry about how we're going to pay for it.....OR what paying for it is going to do to our country's economy?? I think that number's probably accurate. But THIS legislation is just pitiful. It's class warfare at its' finest. People die in this country, period. If you think it's everyone's God-given right to have healthcare......then we have a fundamental difference of opinion. I feel like we have a moral obligation to treat those in need. But.....give them free healthcare? I'm sorry. We can't afford it. The fundamental difference you and I have Sliv......is you're OK with the US Gov't mandating taking from someone else $$ to pay for someone else's healthcare. I don't mind giving my needy neighbor a few items from my garden to help him through a tough time. But I do mind the government MAKING me do it. And, when the neighbor sits at my table and tells me he wants pork chops, instead of potato soup......I don't like that, either. What happens if I get tired of it and don't grow a garden, next year? Why can't I just eat out of someone else's garden, too?
Thier private health insurance. Its not that they don't have money, its that they don't have quality care. They have rationed care and many times people have to come here, or wait months for an operation. A 70 year old gentleman who camps at my place and helps around camp in the summer needed to have bypass surgery last fall. It took him 2 1/2 months to get in for the surgery. Ended up being a tripple bypass. Would that happen down here? Hell no. This poor dude had to wait around for 2 1/2 months not knowing if his clogged arteries were going to cause a heart attack and kill him. Oh....he's from Winnipeg Manitoba.
So I'm going to make one comment here. I've PO'd enough people I think with my views on the auto industry.........so I'll keep my thoughts on this mess brief. Let's look at all things the major things the US government has socialized........ Schools - They are all broke. NY has laid off thousands of teachers. My wife is getting laid off again for the second year in a row due to budgets. She has had excellent references from both schools she has been in, but they simply don't have the budget dollars in place to keep her on board. In this district, there are roughly 35 children that need Special Ed services, now they will all the be responsibility of one full time teacher. Each of the other teachers will be having 22+ kids in their classrooms next year, and they are exploring other "options" to further reduce costs in 2010/2011. I'm fairly certain I don't want my kids exposed to this system if I can help it. US Post Office - Laid off 40k workers in 2009, they are broke Social Security - I'm not even gonna comment on this other than the fact that I've been paying into this for almost 15 years now and most likely won't see a dime from them. So what's going to be different about our healthcare? The above items are pretty bad, but if those systems go broke we don't die. Healthcare on the other hand............ Let's just say I have 0 faith in the US government to put them in charge of my healthcare.
Dan, I waited 2 months, 4 trips to the hospital, an ultra sound, a cat scan, and 4 blood tests for a Gall Bladder operation, all because I had good insurance. They tried to give me one last blood test the day of the operation, I told them they were a tape worm hanging out the ass of my insurance co. and to tell the doctor no deal. I just got a stent in my heart back in November, took about 5 min,15 if you count shaving my pubic hair and inserting the catheter. 1 day in the hospital, bill over 50, 000 dollars. I think the stint actually cost about 80 bucks. Right now I am waiting to get a partial and my appointment is in Oct. My mother has good insurance and it took her over 2 months to get a double bypass after they told her she had to have one soon as possable. To top it off that Doctors license was later yanked for performing unnecessary bypasses. And we live in the good old USA! Want to talk about my lady friend who got a spinal tap and they filled her spine with enbalming fluid, and I can go on and on. Like I said people in this country are going overseas to have operations. The thing that I don't understand is we can give handouts to every body in the world yet can't take care of our own sick and elderly. Makes me sick.
Here is the way I see it... ...First, there are not 25 million Americans that can not afford health care. That is the first lie that they got everyone to bite into. There may be 25 million people IN America that are un or under insured. Of those there are a significant number, like my grandparents that do not NEED health care, they pay for their own and always have. There are those that are simply between jobs, and will again have employer subsidized coverage, and there are those that choose not to have it because the cost of coverage is more than their yearly medical needs. And there is still the debate on whether or not this number includes illegals. Regardless, the cost to benefit ratio is not worth it. Second, they say we as a country need it, WHY? Because we are the only industrialized nation without it? So What! Because of our WHO Ranking? Think before you buy into that. The WHO ranking is not measuring apples to apples. One of the contributing factors to that ranking is life expectancy, and in America we have more traffic fatalities than in any other country. We have a diet higher in fat than any country in the world. We have thousands of young men and women die in gang violence than any country in the world. More men and women die in service to their country than any other country in the world. All of these contribute to life expectancy here in America. Third, they say that our cost of medical attention is too high. It is high, but if you buy a Mercedes then you expect to pay more than if you buy a Honda, right. In America we service more patients faster and with greater precision than any country in the world. We have the greatest technology. We can do an MRI and find a growth the size of a pea in your abdomen in minutes, then fight that growth, with the best surgeons and medicine in the world. If you do not believe that we have the best medical facilities, just ask the tens of thousands of students that come here from all over the world to learn medicine. You can also ask the hundreds of thousands of patients that come here for treatment. Do you hear of Americans going to France for heart surgery, NO. Why do you think all of this is true? Because the best of everything medical is right here in America I can give youmany reasons for NOT having this health care plan. But I will only give you three. 1) Cost, this will cost Americans more for health care in the long run than they are being told. 2) Quality, Fact is that this plan, and the others that have been proposed are going to reduce the quality of care by limiting what you can have done, You can not possibly give more for less. Something will have to give 3) This is a big one, CHOICE. I will not have a choice. I will be forced to purchase health care. I will be forced to pay for someone else to be sick and go to the doctor. What about those that do not need insurance? Why should they have to pay, surely not by choice. And if you CHOOSE not to have insurance, you'll be fined for opting to be free and choose for yourself. This used to be a free country where we were free to choose and we were responsible for ourselves, and our families. This is crap, crap that even those that created will not buy into. That should have been the first sign of how much faith they have in their plan. It is a bunch of liberal/communist behavior.
Dude, your the one that thinks it's fine to offshore American Jobs for child labor in other countrys to make Hospital tools, So whats your point?
I don't think I stututututuer. If anyone is so in favor of socialized medicine, or what ever it is called, there is no shortage of countries that have it. If you ever want to have a decent conversation about jobs and the global market, start a thread and we can do that there. This is not about jobs, it is about medicine. It is about costs of health care and my right to choose. This so called "health care reform" and the President and Congress that pushed it are un American. The basic idea is un American.
Well I'll tell ya what there Poindexter, you couldn't prove it to me. Looks to me like you stutter your ass off even when you type! Spell check can't fix that dumb chit. That skinhead mentality is starting to show with that socialized medicine comment, people will forget how smart you are if, oh wait they can't, you tell us every few days. We were talking about "health care reform" when you showed up and started humping my leg, which won't get you nothing but a swift kick in the we wee. Un American, funny hearing that come from you Wal-Mart Boy. Shouldnt't you be having this discussion with the Japanese, Chinese or one of them other ''nese'' places. Roosevelt, Kennedy, Johnson, many of them wanted it for the country, hell even Nixon, he thought it should be supplied by every employer "Mandated". Looks like its only ok if Republicans are the ones doing the mandating. Quit your crying, stand up and pee like a man. Thanks for the offer on jobs and the global market but I've known how it worked while you were packing a terd around in your pants. However if I need a class on CSA or leg humping I'll be sure and give you a call.
I have a lot of "wants". First thing I have to do is determine how I'm gonna pay for them. NEVER.......do I think...."Oh yeah.....the US Gov't should take the moneys to fund that from someone else......to pay for my want". Fundamental difference of opinion.
See, this is the problem with you liberal types. Someone says something you don't like and you attack them. Fact is that I am against any sort of government intervention in my business. I don't care if they are a Democrat or a Republican. I also do not think that heath care should be forced on the employer either. That, like unions, minimum wage and higher taxes, would only serve to increase the cost of goods to Americans. Also, it is "socialized medicine". What else would you call it, some political correct name? Political Correctness is like saying that you can pick up a turd by the clean end! here is the definition: Socialized medicine is a term used primarily in the United States to refer to certain kinds of publicly-funded health care. The term is used most frequently used in the U.S. political debate concerning health care. The term was first widely used in the United States by advocates of the American Medical Association in opposition to President Harry S Truman's 1947 health-care initiative. Next, say what you want about WalMart, regardless of what they sell, the idea that one man can start a company and without any government intervention and that company can grow to be the worlds largest retailer. They did not grow to the company that they are today without the tens of millions of Americans that continue to buy goods from them. They also got to that point by being the innovators of using information technology and ERP Systems for inventory replenishment. The fact that Americans can not produce the goods and services that we so insatiably consume at the price we want to pay just seems to evade your thought process. So make all the jokes or complaints about outsourcing or off shoring, it is here to stay. There is absolutely nothing that can change that. So again, if you ever want to have a civilized conversation about the subject, start a thread, I will keep it civil with good conversation, if you can, but I highly doubt that. You got all pissy about the Kansas not being far from Canada comment you did not even realize that I was not serious. Get over yourself dude, you are not so important to me that I can not joke around. Quit acting like a child. And as far as your comment about my "skinhead mentality", explain to the peanut gallery your comment, "discussion with the Japanese, Chinese or one of them other ''nese'' places." You are the only one making elitist comments.
