Just checked my cams that I felt were in great spots. I had 3 out. Walked up to the first one which i thought would be the best one. Checked the count on it, only 3 pics. It was out for 10 days and had 75lbs of corn in front of it which was all gone. So I guess I need to retire that cam. The second cam was looking better...till I loaded the pics. 1080 pics sounded good but not a single buck...not even a spike. My last cam was in a whole new area. Down by a creek, also had corn out in front of it. Only 70 pics...could have been worse though. Had the only buck pic of the day, a tiny 6pt. Was rough, I started the day with real high hopes of showing off some big PA bucks.
That sucks. Hope the next couple weeks are better for you Hey, underwear was on your xmas list so it's your own fault!
dont let this bother you, I had a cam take just 10 pics in a week with only one deer on the cam yet a cam over a water hole, just 50 yards away got almost 400 pics with hardly any blank pics. I post some pics of them tomorrow. some are priceless. move to the water source
cmonsta... Unreal... I use to hunt down there (Barkley Mountain) and always killed a buck. I remember all those tiny basket racks - year after year. Since PA implemented AR's I thought big bucks were everywhere. Are your cams on State Land or Private? By the way... I'm from Chemung Co. in NY.
No way I'm just on the other side of 414 from barkley. In franklindale. We have 120 acres over here...back deck over looks barklay. Yeah we have a good bit of big bucks. I had 4 last year over 120", including 2 giants. But that was last year, trying to see what survived the spring n summer. I kicked up a 120" the other day putting cams out so I know I have one shooter still. How's the hunting up there on ur side of the boarder?
That's the way it is with the cameras. The anticipation builds and next thing you know you get your cams and it's like kissing a relative, a big let down. Stay after it, things will turn around. Blessings.......Pastorjim
Know the feeling. My other camera crapped out at the end of May (I didn't find out until end of June) so I bought a quick, cheap replacement. Bad decision. Most pics are whiteouts. I was able to salvage some of them by adjusting brightness and contrast, but still can't make out details that well. Sucks, because I've got some bucks on there that I'd really like to see a lot better, especially since they seemed to have decent growth before the first camera bit the dust.
Yeah and the darn things arnt cheap. I just bought 2 for a new property I picked up and now im really short on my main property...so i dont know what to do lol. I think Im going to be hanging a few stands based on sign this year and not trailcams. I dont love to do it but many deer were killed before trailcams so I guess i can do it.
Thats a bummer! I had a spot with Lucky Buck on it, I was getting boat loads of Video every time I checked it, 8 different Bucks, plenty of Does and a bunch of yotes....the LB was gone so I tried a different batch of minerals I got online....it was out for a week, only 3 Videos, 1 Video of 10 that walked right thru the new minerals , he stopped for a split second and was gone, nothing since! He used to spend 5 minutes in front of the Camera...
