So, with the tax return on the way, and getting the go ahead from the wifey. I went to my training class today, and swung by the archery shop on the way home. I spoke to the guy for a couple minutes, and he showed me around, and what he honestly liked. I walked around, pulled a few, and came to the conclusion that the "Dream Season" bows are a joke. For me at least. Maybe this one was cranked up rediculously high or something, but ANY bow that has that harsh of a cam on it, will not be one of mine. I honestly hated it. Then I started looking at the "Power, and Super hawk" bows. I liked them. Alot. I shot the Power Hawk, a couple times, and for everything I wanted, It was beautiful. He didn't happen to have a rest, on the Super Hawk, but he told me that other than the limbs being different, there really isn't much else. Then I got to looking. I grabbed one of the Admirals, or Captains, I can't remember, I spent too much time staring at both. I shot that a couple times. Very successfully if I might add I had all 5 arrows, in a 2" group. lol. It's not the bow, I'm just that good. lol. I loved it, whatever it was. I would know when I saw it again, just can't remember now. So, I got to talking to the owner, and one of his customers, just shootin' the breeze, and the guy said that I should shoot the Hoyt Alphamax. He said it was really quite similar to the Bowtech I was holding, and it would be a good comparison for me. I gotta say. For originally not wanting to spend a whole lot over 600. I am probably just going to go with what feels best for me. I know these bows were a grip, but the first five arrows out of the Alphamax, came out tighter than with the bowtech. And the Alphamax didn't have a peep on it. lol. I will say, from a non biased point of view. They were all very very nice bows. Especially from someone that has been shooting a bow that is a decade old now. lol. He did have one odd brand that he said they were following for a couple years now. I was somewhat curious if anyone else has heard of them though. I don't remember the name of it, but he said it was from one of the designers of bowtech. Apparently, the guy had branched off, and is now making his own line. I may go back, and shoot it, but I am pretty gun shy [I guess you could say bow shy in this case] of getting into small name companies now. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Is it reputable? I can get the name of them this weekend. I plan on going back there, and seeing what else I can find. Mess around with pricing, and what not.
That might be it. I honestly can not remember. Unless!... Do you know what the symbol, or logo for that looks like? I'll look it up. Edit: Yes, that was deff. it. I just found their webpage. Question. In all honesty, Is this a company that will be around for a while??? I just don't want to pick up a bow, and not be able to get it serviced if something may happen. You know?? My dad got burnt with his last two bows.. He got a Golden Eagle, and now, new this last year, He got a Reflex. Shortly after, Reflex disappeared. IDK, I will still probably choose between the Hoyt, and Bowtech. They just felt right.
1. Okay, well, maybe I'll give them a try. 2. I don't know who that is off the top of my head...or bottom of my glass , but :d lol. 3. The bows choose me. I just shoot a couple, and sort them out from there. It's very scientific.
