I seem to watch Netflix more than my cable channels so I'm probably just wasting $ too

    Yep.

Most nights we don't sit down to watch anything till 8:30ish, and it is usually something on Netflix or off the DVR (which would be the same as Hulu). I'm sure I will regret this come next September when CFB starts again, but oh well.

Maybe it will cause me to hunt more?

Maybe my area is different... but if you have cable internet adding the basic cable package is usually dirt cheap. Like $20-30/month on top of your internet package.

I will always have cable internet if available as much as I use the computer, so that option is likely the route I go to keep basic cable for sports. We currently have like $160/month DirecTV, but split 4 ways it is worth it to us as young grad school guys. Can't miss my sports games.

My point was why not pick up cable TV and drop DTV. You could likely add it on for $20-30 and that way still have your basic channels and sports.

I'd much rather have live cable than Netflix... but then I'm not into third rate movies and I've already seen all the series worth a nickel on there.

Dropped ours in 09, I watch the saints play at a buddies house when they are televised here or on my phone. We rent movies from amazon from time to time and that's it. Best decision I ever made for my kids.

I haven't had cable for 2 years now. I have hulu and netflix, and stream on my iPad, bluray player, and a roku.

I also subscribe to wild tv for 3 dollars a month and get a ton of good hunting shows too. I haven't even considered going back to cable.

It's a channel based out of canada and has most of the mainstream hunting shows. A lot like hulu. Both my bluray and roku have an app to stream it.

Might have to look into it. My TV has a bunch of internet apps such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, Skype, Amazon Prime, YouTube, etc. Then again, between bh.com and others, there's plenty of free online hunting shows too.

Yeah thinking of cutting off my Direct TV to save the money and read more of my books. Apple TV is great for movies and such.

    Also HD antennae work great.

Hooker I get rid of cable and life is great. What I do is use my parents account to get espn watch from their provider. So I get all my sports:)

I plan on buying house in the next year or two, and when I do I will likely have a similar set up with the Netflix/Roku set up on a smart tv. I really only watch the Outdoor/Sportmans channels, and Nat Geo. If I want to watch a game (which is rare) I can just go to a local bar or buddies house. There's so much crap on tv it's ridiculous.

Same here. HD antenna, Netflix, Internet Streaming. I just go to espn.com to see any highlights. I too am tiring of sports. Bowhunting is more fun anyways! :tu:
