So, I started to do a little scouting on some public land....

I had put a camera out in this place that I wanted to scout, check to see if any deer were coming through. When I put it out, I knew the batteries I had in it were pretty shotty, they would die soon. So the fiancé calls me and I had just put the camera out, and had to run home. Over the next couple weeks, I didn't have time to go out there. Well, Thanksgiving evening after i stuffed my face with turkey and fixins, i go out to check my cam, I get out to the public land and its gone. Im like wtf, i know it was here....So I go back into town, get some batteries and a flashlight and come back out and ill be damned, the damn thing was back. what kind of scumbag takes a camera, then brings it back, and turns it on. Anywhoo, that camera was only worth like 70 bucks anyway i guess, and i got it at a garage sale. So if some dirtbag stole it not like i would be out a ton. But still, the nerve of some people.

 

I'll bet $100 you checked the wrong tree the first time back out. Been there.....done that! Glad you found the camera though. :D

 

I'm also betting it was somewhere in Iowa. And that it wasn't on since the 18th.

You put a camera on public land, someone took it and then returned it and you are upset? It's not like it was private land, probably not even close to a border. Other outdoorsmen hunting in the area have just as much right to know what is moving through the area as you. Just because they took it doesn't constitute them being a thief, I mean they brought it back right? Now if they would have put it back and then came back and did a silly pose in front of it, yeah, I could see your point then.

Just wait, someone is probably going to come through shortly and take all your trail markers.
