About an hour before sunset, God turned off the heat and it was COLD. Had perfect wind, was in a tree that had an old stand in it...was in quietly before any movement should have happened. Squat. Get in my truck not 100 yards from where I was in my stand, 10 deer standing there looking at me. I rolled my window down and started to yell at them. Did it on the way back after dropping off my hunting pass at the Quantico game check. The bastards just stood there and looked at me. They are in a training area that is never open to hunt...and they know it. Got to the turn off to The Basic School which is on the hunting side of Marine Corps Base Quantico, and two deer standing in the parking lot of the medical center. Yelled at them also. I'm losing it.
Thats usually how it goes LOL! :D I sometimes think they have a calender on a tree in the woods. If I could just find it and do some editing on it :D when I first seen your username, I thought Dude your in Florida, Its not cold :D
Tis hunting. I haven't lost it yet though where I am shouting at the deer. I am cussing out the road hunting muzzle loader guys though that are screwing up my hunting !! One more day off it and they go away for another year. Losers !!!! Tim
Sean, keep at it....don't lose it just yet. One year on Quantico I arrowed a doe on the last day of the hunting season in January, about 30 minutes before sundown. It can happen. And last but not least, my buzzword of the year.....KILL
I want a stand in 8A...that is where all the bastards were taunting me today. Right at the EOD field. I am not quitting until I get a deer.
I know exactly where you are describing. I am hoping to get out Tuesday afternoon from 1pm-5pm or so if you have some time. I have not hunted since Thanksgiving day.
sadly the defense of our nation requires me to have endless meetings most days... Tuesday being among them. If I could just defeat the Taliban with meetings. We should invite them to some of ours, it would bore them to death and they might just give up Jihad. Will be out again on Sat...maybe Friday. 3 was open for Monday - might want to try that Tues. If I survive my Combat Fitness Test Friday morning w/o any serious injury, might head over to TA3.
