Hey All - I will be providing updates on the show soon but thought I would post a thread here. My wife Lisa and I have been working hard for a long time to make this happen, we finally bought our own piece of dirt! I have been doing a ton of work the last two months on getting the house squared away, just now moving onto property improvements and hunting stuff. I will throw a couple updates here for those interested as I work through it all. I have the next two weeks off work. This week I plan on killing a bunch of snow geese in the mornings and evenings, during the daytime I’m hoping to start getting stand prep and timber funnel work done. I marked off and frost seeded plots last weekend. First pic is the aerial. Second pic is of the timber funnel stand I plan on setting up tomorrow. Third picture is of the snow goose feed that spun down this afternoon right next to the house.
That's awesome. You will enjoy the heck out of that purchase for many years. I hope to chase a few snows when they come through soon!
This really is awesome. Congrats again. I had a few too many financial setbacks in my younger years haha. I hope to be able to buy my cousin out for my uncles farm when the time comes. It was my Great grandpas best friends deer camp back in the 50’s. My uncle and gpa were able to buy it when he died. My family has spent every single deer season there since 1962. Its 90 something acres that is surrounded by Shawnee National Forest. My cousin says she wants it when the time comes but there is no way she realizes the cost of operation and upkeep. Either way if she is able to hang onto it that will be great if not then i really hope to be in a position to buy, for the sake of the family. I dont want to see that place go away. I want to see the kids catching fish out of the pond and riding 4wheelers.
