Oct whitetails with your trad bow? Anyone? I am set up in a few spots that are very tight, when I hunt these ground blinds I am taking my recurve everytime, how about you guys?
I'm heading out tomorrow morning for a 5 day hunt. I will carry my longbow to the woods at least 3-4 times. I really want some meat in the freezer so the Marquis gets to eat first.
I've had it out twice. Been shooting all this week since I haven't been hunting. I'll have it thursday, and depending on how things go, several more times later in the month. I may even take it out on an all sneak rut hunt. I've had too many bucks walk right up to me while small game hunting years past. One day of old school during the rut I can manage.
Its all I've been shooting and hunting with since last season! I love it, to me, there's nothing like it, plain and simple! Earlier in the season I used to think about it, ya know I'm hunting with my Longbow, I need to do this and that, not any more. I just Hunt! This is how I spent last weekend hunting, the Longbow, the Flintlock and a Tent!
I have sat a half dozen nights with my Montana, but the deer are scarce for me. Going out on a rabbit hunt layer this month with a friend...pics then.
All I hunt with is my 62", 45#@28" Morrison Cheyenne with Max 1 carbon/foam recurve limbs. I'm shooting Victory VAP arrows with 200 gr Woodsman Elite broadheads. Bill
