Was out on my property and found 2 different underground bee nests that looked like they had been dug up. Both the holes were a good 12" deep with rocks dug out and combs beside it. Only thing I can guess is it was a black bear. So do bears actually dig up a nest to get to the honey?
We have pics of 3 different black bear. That hive is about 100 yards downhill from my main stand and the 2nd hive we found is another 200yards past there right beside our parking area. The pics we had were about a mile away up hill and they demolished a feeder. This could make going to the stand bright and early interesting. I will be picking up a bear stamp.
