so, anyone gunhunt too?

i havn't heard much from folks here on the topic of gunhunting. does anybody here do both gun & bow? if so, what rifle do you use?

i have a Marlin XS7 in .243 wi/the matte black synthetic stock & 3-9x40 factory scope package. plus an older marlin 30/30 levergun wi/a 4x scope on top

 

If I remember right there are a few guys on here that are bow only, but the majority gun hunt too.

I usually hunt the Wisconsin rifle season with a .444 Marlin, and the Minnesota season with a 16ga slug gun as we're shotgun only in my zone.

Gun hunting just isn't the same for me as bow hunting. I don't get the enjoyment out of it that I do with bow hunting. My family all heads up to camp for a week to gun hunt together, and I enjoy the time I get to spend with them, but it will never be as important to me as bow hunting.

 

I use a 12 guage or .50 caliber! lol Only gun hunt because my friends are dumb and dont bow hunt! lol

 

Browning A-bolt 30-06 and CVA Buckhorn magnum Muzzle loader !

 

Ruger M77 7mm Rem Mag and CVA Wolf .50 Cal. Havn't missed a muzzleloader season since I was 12.

 

Yup I also gun hunt and use a Remington 870 Express 12 gauge!

 

I only bowhunt in MN, but I rifle hunt in WI.

I have a Browning A-Bolt II Stainless Stalker in .270 w/ a Leupold VX-III 2.5-8

I still use my Win Model 94 30-30 if I'm pushing the swamps for someone.

Bow Hunting just frick'n - wicked - awesome.....etc.
Lately Shotgun season been Vacation Time to ...rest up time to Get back at it in the Stand!
When you get so Jacked Up Bow Hunting excited and all plus its just is a mess cleaning all that
Frick'n hair out etc. etc.

I have several rifle's- Sauer 202 custom 30-06 LH, Remington Model 660 .350 Rem Mag RH, Remington model 763 .350 Rem Mag RH. I only use my rifles when I go to deer camp with my old school friends.

 

I have a browning a-bolt 300 wsm that I mainly rifle hunt with. But I do have a .243 and 45-70 as well. I also have the tc omega for black powder season.

 

I did for many years but lost intrest about 6 years ago. Its just the Bow now!

 

Mostly bow, may gun hunt once or twice a season. I have a Savage .270

 

Really? On a BOWHUNTING site? Thats weird because we talk about bait fishing all the time on fly fishing forums.

I use my Mossberg 12 Gauge with a rifled slug barrel and cantilevered scope mount for whitetail and change to the 28 inch regular barrel for small game.

 

Muzzleloader only. Really enjoy that season.

 

Bow only right now. Tossed around the idea of purchasing a muzzleloader for this year especially if we get this 400 acre farm co-op to hunt.

 

I hunt with a ruger compact .308, and .50 cva.

 

Mostly bow but the few times I do rifle hunt it is with my TC Encore 300 Win Mag.

 

I enjoy hand gunning & will use a slug gun on occasion too.

 

I haven't gun hunted since 2002. I am gearing up to get back into gun hunting though. Miss the times with all the guys.I have a remington 11-87 special purpose 12 gauge for our slug season.
