We know a thing or two about ice here in NW Missouri. There's nothing road crews can do anywhere to deal with ice and freezing rain. Southern's seem to think we have some magical formula for clearing every road of snow and ice immediately. 90% of the time when I come to work on bad weather days, there hasn't been a plow or salt truck touch the roads yet. The reason ATL and Birmingham has so much trouble a couple years ago was because everyone panic'd and left work at about the same time. Clogging and congesting the roads even more than normal.

Snowing here in Louisiana right now.

Been "working" from home the past 2 days due to the icy conditions. Sucks being at work this morning.

Smart. They at least care about their employees.

We were getting two inches of snow an hour earlier this season, there was well over a foot in our parking lot (including our cars) - and we had to stay open. Took me over an hour to get home and I work 12 minutes from home.

In the snow/ice storm last year they closed the schools late about mid-morning and several kids had to stay in the schools over night many parents tried to go get their kids but ended up stuck on the HWYs and surface roads for over a day.. One mom a friend of my wife got to the school took her 6 hours for a 20 mile trip and then she was stuck at the school till noon the next day... They went ahead and closed the schools today just in case..

    1) Where would I get a sled?
    2) There are not any hills around here.

    Garbage can lid?

I was being tongue in cheek.

Did you shovel your driveway and sidewalk yet? Don't want someone to fall and sue you.

sad thing is we won't even get to enjoy our snow... It's supposed to start at midnight and snow till 4 or 5am.. Then tomorrow it's going to warm up and melt...I like to get a little snow but really enjoy watching it fall more then waking up to it....

As I am typing this it has it has started to sleet and snow a little, if it does this till 5am we are going to be buried..lol

great big snow flakes now..but ground is too warm
