This is my first successful whitetail season. I have seen more deer, bucks and does than ever before. I took a large doe during gun season. Have seen alot of bucks during bow season. But none like the two I saw last week. Was sitting in my tree stand, when I look over and there is a nine point buck at 20 yards staring at me.......we stare at each other for awhile then he starts munching around......I waited until he had his back to me before moving.....as soon as I move his tail goes straight up.....busted...but how????? it was then I heard something about 5 yards behind him.....grandad......he was huge.....they both proceeded to turn and run. Lesson learned, never get tunnel vision agian. I waited a couple of days and went to the same tree stand and waited.....just like clock work the deer start moving @ 5pm......was watching several does in the field in front of me.......when I heard the first of 5 or 6 snorts and pawwing at the ground...finally I slowly turned to see the same two bucks headed away with tails showing. My question is, is my stand no good to go back to.....I am sure they smelt me.....had three does smell me 150 yards away the same night.......if I go back to eliminating scent will that stand still be a good spot?
