Does the flash not freak the deer out?

    Good looking deer Tim!

Not usually, it is infrared so it's not like the flash on a regular camera.

They know it is there. I usually run an old Stealth from mid summer until it gets cold in this spot. The deer have to get used to it as it does scare them. That camera is noisy when in infra red mode. Once the cold weather hits I switch to a newer camera that is quiet. It still can startle them a little ever once and a while but they usually just look up and go back to eating.

The Covert ( mp6 ) that I use has been one of the better ones for not startling as I move this camera around a lot. They usually don't even pay attention to it even on the first few days it is setup in a spot. I think the startling comes more from noise in the camera then flash or Infra red. The newer camera are much better now days for being quiet.
