Elite is a very smooth drawing bow with a great back wall.

Having a badly frayed rotator cuff and a torn labrum, I am very sensitive to the draw cycle of a bow. I've also found that having a solid back wall is also very helpful/conducive to a comfortable drawing/shooting bow for me.

The other bows, in my opinion, to look seriously at are Xpedition and Obsession.
Both are very smooth and have great back walls.

I've been looking too and had a similar thread. Personally the Elite and Bowtech are highest on my list, some hoyt also decent as was the mathews (though the back wall wasn't too my liking). I've not tried a few other suggestions like prime, obsession and new breed yet.

Go try a mess of bows but there are some good candidates above...

I have always like the draw cycle on my bowtech. I don't own it but I have shot it is the bowtech prodigy set it on the comfort setting and it is smooth. Not so much on the performance setting

Glad to see someone finally mentioned Bowtech. You can't beat the adjustable draw cycle of the BTX. Shot it about a month ago and it was fantastic. Putting money down this friday on a 28.

You need to try a New Breed.. Very smooth draw cycle with a solid back wall and adjustable let-off.

The Bowtech Carbon Icon also has a disc available to make it easier to draw - thought it reduces arrow speed. The back wall is superior and it is very light.

The last 3 Bowtech's I owned all had a bump in the draw, but none had the settings. I liked them all though and definitely plan to shoot a new one if I can.

The issue will be nobody stocks 50# bows so I will have to order one unless I find a nice used bow in my specs which would be a reach. I won't be able to shoot until closer to late July/ early August so I may have to order a bow without shooting it to get it in time depending on delivery times. So I appreciate all the opinions.

Try this shop for a 50# bow. This is my local shop but they also do alot of mail order and Internet business. Plus they always have a good supply of used bows. They are top notch!

    Bass and Bucks.

Ok lots of opinions out there but if it was me and my shoulder then I'd be shooting a halon 6 at 50# or an Xpedition Xception at 55# which is their new single cam.

I got all mine out today & shot them just to see which one I have is the smoothest. I order from smoothest to not so smooth:
    1. Switchback XT
    2. Spyder 30
    3. Pse Drive
    4. Nitrium Turbo
    5. Arena 30

Funny how the oldest bow is the smoothest!!

I second the switchback xt, nice bow.

I can't stand a bow that I have to push to let down.

I would have to say the No Cam HTR. I had a 50-60 and its sooooooooooo smooth. I currently have a Halon 6 at 52 pounds and it is a very close 2nd compared to the HTR I had. I've heard good things about the elites though too but I never shot them.
