I figured Todd would probably respond here as I did see that in his video.
I want to know if they are really tight that is for sure.
Sometimes with my alergies I can't alway breath out of my nostril's but
that is a good question Isaiah to which I don't have a answer.

Fraley - they are somewhat tight, but not to the point that they suffocate you or are uncomfortable. And you can choose to put them over either both your mouth and nose, or just your mouth. They have a bit of a "smell" because of the high amount of carbon in them, but that just means that they're probably working pretty well.

A friend of ours is a police officer and he says they use this same type of mask when working in areas where dead bodies have been left for days (or weeks) and smell pretty ripe. They put one of these masks on and he says you can't smell a thing. This is an environment where you'd about throw up without one on, which is a pretty good testimonial to how well they block scent/odor.

As for isaiah's question, I have "heard" that your breath smells let pungent when it comes out of your nose but I don't think it's enough of a difference to matter to a whitetail's nose. Human breath scent is danger no matter in what quantity it comes. I'd say you're best to block as much as possible regardless of how you breathe.

For me, I'm sticking with my Gum-O-Flage and my Scent-Lok head cover. I prefer to cover my hair up as well, as that holds quite a bit of human scent. Plus it helps keep me a little warmer, and better concealed. I might try the Smootchie this weekend if it's as warm as they say it's going to be. I'll let everyone know what I think if I do.

    Thanks JZ.
I have the Scent-Lok head cover so maybe I will just give the gum a try.
I do brush with that gawd awful baking soda.

Screw brushing with baking soda. I use my regular mint toothpaste and don't worry about it. The Gum-O-Flage helps to kill any odor from bacteria, which is all I'm worried about. Plus it covers up whatever scent is on my breath anyways. IMO there's no reason to do both the baking soda brush (which is nasty) and the Gum, AND a SL head cover too.

Also, if you're using a the SL mask/head cover make sure you're putting it in the dryer after every couple of hunts. Or better yet, have 2 or 3 that you use in rotation between reactivations. They fill up with odor a lot quicker than your standard SL suit does so they need to be cared for, and subsequently replaced, a lot more frequently to be effective.

I'm using an Enduraskins headcover and my Scentlok cover. The Enduraskins is supposed to help with the bacteria I think. Problem I have is I wear glasses and if I cover my nose it forces my expelled breath up around my glasses and fogs them. I like the gum o flage too. Has anyone wore the Smoochies with glasses yet? Does all your breath go through them? Guess I just need to get used to wearing the contacts! lp

I was at the store the other day looking at that. I couldn't tell what it tasted like and I didn't want to spray it. I didn't even realize Dead Down Wind made mouth spray. They also had toothpaste. I wonder how that tastes.
