I am thinking about picking one of these up for some fun. The rounds for my other guns cost so much I do not shoot them all that often. I can have a few hours of fun for $25 with this instead of 10 minutes with my pistols. I would like to know if any of you own one and what you think about it. Any feedback would be great! http://cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templ...parentType=index&indexId=cat604744&hasJS=true
A good round for a .22 isn't all that cheap either! Unless your gonna shoot from the hip and let em rip, then go for bulk ammo! LOL!
Even good .22 ammo is more affordable than cheap .40 ammo. I just want to have fun and have no issues shooting bulk ammo.
Yeah I guess so, but the rate that thing is gonna spit em out, I don't think its gonna be cheap! LOL! I know it wouldn't be for me! The bulk ammo sometimes is junk, especially for a gun like that, it just might need the quality ammo to perform, ya never know! I know this one likes quality, even with just a 10 round clip, I go thru it big time!
I know a guy who is just about ready to buy one of those. 4 of his co-workers picked them up and they just rave about them. I was at the range with a guy shooting one….looked like a TON of fun. Wish I could squeeze one into my budget.
Ive got one. I really like it. Like you said its a heck of alot cheaper than shooting the larger calibur rifles. However, S&W recommends shooting copper jacketed bullets out of it. Some work better than others. CCI Stingers I have found work the best. They arent the cheapest .22 shell. But there are a few others that shoot well with the gun too. You can weed out which ones the gun doesnt perform well with pretty easy because it will jam every 5 shots or so. Easy to use and its the funnest .22 ive ever shot.
i look at ammo like i look at fuel. i need fuel to make my vehicle run, same as ammo. each month i put away a set amount of $$$$ for ammo. after a few months i go and grab a ton of it whether i need it or not. easier said than done, i dont have kids or a family so all my extra money goes to the fun account or savings! to get back to your question, i'd rather just shoot my M4, but the .22 set up looks like a lot of fun!!!!!!!!!!!! and cheaper too! to me mastering each firearm i own is an adventure in itself and this one would be fun to get good with.
Well, I ended up ordering one... But not the one from the link above. I got this one instead. It is similiar but has some other features. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/...57786_757784_757784_ProductDisplayErrorView_Y
Have you shot the Federal bulk through yours? I watched quite a few youtube links and everyone who mentioned the federal bulk said that it cycled very good though their gun.
i heard a bunch of nastiness about the quality of the smith .22lr version... like it was basically cast outta pot steel and generally built like crap (unlike the .223 versions which are quite nice)
The upper and lowers are made of a polymer with steel inserts. So whom ever told you that did not know what they were speaking about. It won the shooting industries academy of excellence rifle of the year for 2010.
You do NOT want to even go there. You're looking at real big federal offense there that just aint worth it.
Ive shot 50 rounds through it with the federal bulk and nothing jammed up. Thats a good alternative to the stingers... much cheaper
