Im gonna give a couple of those type spots a go this year. I'll wait until they are moving hard about Nov 10th or so and hunt them in the morning til about noon. Im excited to see what happens.

And when YOU feel the need to cross the river to hunt, lol.

Well I sat down river from some shallow rip rap there was a pretty good trail following the river and a bunch of acorns just up river. Didn't see any but it was enjoyable listening to the river babble DF165709-0420-4CCD-BE9B-053F5486B486.jpeg

Josh, I went and checked a major creek crossing in an area I am focusing this year. No buck sign but still plenty of tracks dumping in from multiple trails. Has me a little concerned that something isn't in there thrashing some trees and showing me something. What do you think? There is one maybe 50 acre area in that block of timber on the eastern side of the creek that has a tremendous amount of buck sign. The rest of the area is pretty much void of it.

I would absolutely love to be able to do this. The problem I have is my creek has major flash flood issues and would blow that bridge out in the first flood event. So much debris gets brought down with the floods too that I have a bunch of log jams making it even worse. The creek runs diagonally from my Northwest corner to the Southeast corner. Completely cuts off my normal creek crossings during any high water times. Luckily the neighbor allows me to use his property to access the back half of the property, but I'm still cut off from hunting a couple of my stand locations since there's no good entry route from that way.
I've though about building a cable bridge from about 5' up a tree on each side of the bank, just never gotten around to it.

I always enjoy sitting next to a stream. Give it enough sits and you'll see some really cool things on those river banks. Looks like a nice spot

I still believe it could be a good rut stand.

I've thought about putting in a two way zip line, lol.

This one is from last year and I'm sure the tree is probably gone now. I pulled the rope out last winter...I'll just have to find and make another if I can.

What he meant to say Josh was "thanks for this thread, I wish you would combine them all". Kind of a joke but that is what he meant I believe. I'm poor with words sometimes as well. Lol
