As I am feeling the itch, I thought of getting out to do some rabbit and squirrel hunting this weekend with my bow. Any advice or tips on bagging a few of these critters with the ol' stick and string?

Haha in Jest, but actually noty bad advice either! Anyone else? areas I should look? I am planning on hitting some brush piles I know of on a WMA around here. How about getting a still shot? any advice or is it all just luck of whether the rabbit decided to stop after running 20 yards?

I would be prepared to loose some arrows, so use some older arrows, and try to find some judo points, that will help you keep tabs on arrows.

Use old arrows and grab some Saunders Bludgeon tips and have fun. :) There aint no secret to killing them, just go shoot lol. I'm heading out this weekend to hit some squirrels with the shotgun as I haven't done it in a while. Good luck! Most of all have fun!

One thing about them rabbits, they will wait for you to walk past them and then run. If your careful, walk 5-6 steps and slowly turn around and look for small smooth patches of fur in the brush, especially along the edges of fallen trees, shrub lines, fences, etc. Many times you will spot them looking at you still as can be. Happy hunting....
