So I have this idea. I have a treestand set up on a lane and I was wondering if I could make a 10x10 ft plot? And what should I plant? I've never made a food plot and I would love to. I just want to try it. So what do you think?

I'm doing Brassicas similar style, it's about 15x20' micro plot. It's just a better fall plot seed for a winter food source. I'll take some pictures when I'm out seeding it friday.

I personally like Antler King No Sweat. It got oats and clover and canola. Just rake up the ground, put the seed down with a little fertilizer and lime. It will certainly grow.

I was reading reviews on it. Very mixed from what I saw. More than likely folks with minimal food plot knowledge. My worry with it is how much sunlight it really needs.

Planted it last year on a roadbed that gets 1 hour tops. It came up fine. But you have to make sure you get good seed to soil contact. Can't just throw it on top of leaves and debris and expect it to grow.

I like clover the best. There is a little maintenance involved with it, but it grows really fast and can take a beating from weather to browse pressure.

Annual or perennial? This late in the year I would recommend an annual and if it comes up good put some clover or other perennial next year. I have two small plots planted in Whitetail Institute Secret Spot. Good stuff.
