Just purchased this bow and didn't notice this small chip on the edge of the limb until I got home, it doesn't appear to have cracked across the limb at all, but there is a chip on the edge. Is this something to be concerned with?
If its not to to deep you can always take some fine fine sand paper and sand down the limb there a little to get rid of the nick
would you be worried about the safety of shooting this bow? i just don't want the thing blowing up in my face
Not with that little nick, I've had limbs get small cracks and just sanded them down shot just find I have one right now that I hunt with had a small nick like urs at the end of the season *due to me throwing it in a boat because the skeeters were tearing me apart* and just sanded it down pulled it back inspected area and went to shooting
I didn't put it anything on mind... I guess if it was my blackwidow I might have but that little samick bow is cheap I didn't care to much about it lol
That does not look bad. Have a lot worst on my fishing bow. Sand to smooth edges with 240 or higher grit sand paper. I seal it with 5 min epoxy.
That looks more like a dent rather than a chip. It doesn't look like anything to worry about the way I'm seeing it. jmo
I feel the same. I would probably leave it alone if it was my bow. If you do sand it, be careful not to take too much off. When I was building bows one way to fix limb twist was to remove some limb material in that area. So by fixing your knick, if you aren't careful, you could induce some limb twist.
