I hunt several properties (little over 2000 acres) and my favorite is only 20 acres. I have killed a lot of good mature bucks off of it but have a lot of rules for success on it.

#1 is , I will not shoot a doe on it till I have shot my first buck. Chasing a doe through the property can also bump any bucks that I hope to shoot off of the place.

#2 is , I never hunt the property on a questionable wind. Wouldn't take much of that and they wouldn't have to change their travel route much for you to not see much movement on that property.

#3 is , and this might not apply to your property. No food plot. A food plot on that size of a property is hard to move around. you will end up bumping deer while entering in the morning and exiting in the evening.

I used to live on a property that had about 3 acers of woods and a couple acres of a field.. killed a bunch of deer there... I just had to make good shots because the property butted up to a anti hunter's property that was known to actually shoot at people who went onto his property to retrieve deer (as silly as that sounds)

I have both of these bucks on six acre parcel. From my stand I can see my house. In this case size doesn't matter its location, food, and a well made travel corridor on a large ridge.

I've shot 3 doe and have some 140-150 class bucks showing up one of my pieces that's 8 acres. It's all about playing that wind perfect and getting in and out as quietly as possible!
