That's what happens when you hit a deer with a Ford. A Dodge on the other hand would withstand a blow from deer any day without a mark.
First one you've killed in a while, no? :D Sucks about the truck though. Looks like you hit him/her pretty good.
I've killed a couple that you may not know about. It was a big doe and I did hit it pretty hard. 50-55 mph. I'm quite surprised about this one as I couldn't find it. I went back in the day time and nothing. I did not go walking in the brush though, but I find it hard to believe that after taking a hit like that, it could still make it into the woods.
That's always amazed me as well. If I got whacked by a 1/2 ton pickup going 55 mph I sure as heck wouldn't be running off into the woods anytime soon.
A while back on the 3:10 to Yuma I had the big ladders on the truck. Driving past a field a bird flew right out in front of the truck startling me and right then "THUMP!" I said "I think we caught him" as I looked in the rear glass. A few hours later we fueled up and there were feathers and blood on one of the ladders with a soulless bird riding in the bed. Hope you get your FORD back in shape soon, tough break.
It never would have happened with a dodge, because the engine would have blown long before he reached the deer. I was hoping to see a picture of you laying beside the deer like a famous picture from the past. Glad you were not hurt.
That sucks. One hit my semi trailer 2 years ago. Dumb thing jumped into the side of it. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk
