hi , i just got a pse x force ss, took it to our local bow shop to have the owner check it out. we put the bow scale on it and it is pulling 68 lb. the bottom no. on the scale said 2.8 the bow shop owner said thats like 90%let off. i have the draw stop set on the 60%side of the cam in the no.10 hole which is correct for my draw lenth. i shot 25 arrows with the techno hunt system they have set up in there , my average speed was 261.5 i was shocked that it was that slow . my arrows are pse carbon force hunter 300 cut down to 28.5 with a 100gr blunt to use with the techno hunt. iam using a caliper release directly on the string , and have an octane rest. the only thing i have on my string that would slow it down would be a kisser button and the peep sight. i was under the impression these bows were super fast. any suggestions would be helpfull.
You cannot trust techno hunts FPS reading. Shoot through a traditional chronograph to see your real speed and go from there.
Yeah techno speeds are all over the place. You can adjust the letoff by moving the draw setting to longer than what you need and then adjusting the stop to get back to your draw length. This will decrease the letoff.
Something is wrong. A slow X-force is an oxymoron. I assume you have a 31 inch draw length and your let off is 60%? Thats above IBO specs if you shot a 350 grn arrow, anyway, your arrows should be cooking with a 31 inch draw at 60 pound letoff, unless your shooting a 500 grn arrow. 60% should mean 60% let off not 90%. What cams are on it HF or GX the HF- SS has a rated IBO speed of 322-330 fps. I have a 2008 DS HF and 60% lettoff is 60% believe me. I can't shoot 60% lettoff for hunting. If you want to change the draw length you need the proper modules. I suggest you find an authorized PSE dealer or call PSE to correct the problems.
x force hi, thanks for all the input, obviously the bow shops techno hunt chrono needs a tune up. my x force is a 2008 ss with the hf cams i am shooting carbon force 300 hunter arrows cut to 28 inches with 100gr tip my total weight is 340 gr .my draw stop is set on the no.10 hole on the 60%side. the bow seems very fast to me. my son shoots a hoyt zr100 set at 68lb with 27inch carbon revolution speedpro max arrows at 5.5 gr per inch.and my bow is faster.what i need to do is buy my own chronograph and forget the guy at the bow shop. i thought it was kind of odd when he told me my bow was set at 90% let off. p.s. we went to another bow shop to get a new string for my sons bow , black bear archery in st. georges de. it was a little bit of a drive for us but this guy knows his stuff.
My Browning Illusion bow has an IBO speed of 326, and I have a 70 lb draw at 28 in, I'm not sure of my arrow weight, but it is heavier, anyways I went to Gander and checked it's speed and 253 was it. I think that bows drop alot from there IBO speed once it is set up for hunting. The guy at Gander told me I could get another 20fps if I went with a lighter arrow, but I'm sticking with mine until I need new ones.
