I love Sloppy Joe(Manwich), It's pretty much one of my favorite foods.

So say I want to replace the Beef with Venison, would you guys do anything different between the two?

Its been so long, 10 years maybe, since I've made em with beef I forgot! I make Sloppy Joes with venison all the time! I always put onions and garlic in. I'll switch up with mushrooms and cut up bacon as well! I never put salt on them until I'm ready to eat them. In other words I always cook my venison without salt, if needed, I'll add it after its been cooked. Salt will dry it out!

I agree with Jeff, the bold kicks ass!

I sliced all my deer into jerky...but I have since bought a grinder...next year a doe or two is being dedicated to ground venison due to this thread. I LOVE sloppy joes lol.

That's all I use in the house is Vension. For tacos, spaghetti, shepard's pie, stew etc. Anything you can use for beef, u can sub w/vension. The only thing I won't use venison for is hamburgers. too lean=too dry of a burger.

If the burger meat(venison + fat) is made 80/20 and you are careful not to overcook the burgers should not be dry. Overcooking is usually the main problem...if you think it's done it's probably overdone:d My wife and I make them all the time...just as juicy as regular 80/20 beef.
