Big Fan of Muzzy here. Saw a deer shot through the shoulder @ 35 yards and WRECKED the deer ran maybe 50 yards double lunged. Great trail -
    My Vote Muzzy 3 blade.

Muzzy's. There is a very good reason that they are the number one selling broadhead ever.

As far as discussion on blood trails, I have seen TOO many murder scene blood trails from 3 and 4 blade muzzy's to count. Muzzy's also compensate for a somewhat bad shot. Muzzy's will staple shoulders shut like an ER Surgeon.

Rage's are all the rage, and I'm not disappointed about that, for the simple fact you make a ton of money retailing them. However, you hit hard bone with a rage, your 50/50 on penetration. On a hard angle shot (I know everyone here waits for that perfect broadside shot , but deflections on exp's happen alot more often than most people know. I hear about it every day.

The most important component of bowhunting is complete and I mean complete confidence in your equipment. When you don't have to think about anything but picking a spot, it free's up alot of "buck fever" when your thinking and looking around at your equipment. Shooting should be one fluid movement. One thing I never worry about is my broadhead. Another tip, a small amount of bow wax on the threads of your broadheads will keep them from coming loose.

There are 2 reasons that expandables are a hit:
An excellent and expensive marketing routine, including Celebrities. (notice not Stan Potts or Waddell, possibly two of the best bowhunters around, shoot muzzys). This explains why someone will spend $40 for 3 rages, it's the same reason people go to Starbucks, instead of Dunkin, even though Dunkin coffee is unquestionably better.

Second, they generally stay around the same group of most people's field tips. This makes most bowhunters happy, because they do not have to practice with broadheads, and adjust so.

Simple Commercialism. If I told you the wholesale on Rage's you'd crap.

    IMHO. God Bless.

yeah, i shot my buck through the shoulder, through the heart, into the other shoulder and dropped about 50 yards away with muzzy 4-blade.. i really need to tune my bow to my muzzy's though.. flew up 4 inches to the left and 2-3 inches high from where i wanted it to go.. my bad at not taking the time to tune it.. im used to my rage :)

Your 2-3 inches high could be from a number of things, buck fever pull instead of creep on the release trigger, holding or pulling (everybody does it, the range is different than a deer in front of you for sure), or you may want to increase vane size to 4". I always recommend 4" on fixed broadheads, they control better for sure IMHO.

The left pull of the muzzy's is always. Many people would argue otherwise, but like I've said in previous posts, I've shot more muzzy's than I've eaten bacon (I like Bacon), and left is almost always the flight when tuned for field tips. A simple slight move to the left with your sight will solve it.

And your right, muzzy's with the right KE will break anything in their path. Period.

Original Muzzy's always, never buy the first edition of anything. ipad, iphone, droid, boots, bows, etc., that's where all the real world kinks are worked out. 3 or 4 blade doesn't matter.

    Good Job, you slammed em.

    IMHO. God Bless.
