Has anyone tried the Slick Trick 1 1/4" GRIZZTRICK 100gr?? I like the bigger cutting diameter but wondering how would the less angle on the blades, not as steep, effect penetration, if any? Thanks

I want to start by saying I am not personally knowledgeable about if BH blade angle significantly effects penetration. Having said that, it makes perfect sense to me from a physics standpoint. What type of head would be easier to push through an animal? A shallow angled one of course. In addition, I have heard some pretty knowledgeable hunters swear that BH blade angle does in fact effect penetration quite a bit.

I am not saying you can't or won't get pass throughs will "steep" angled BH's. I am just saying I think there is something to fact penetration may easier to obtain with a shallow angled blade BH.

I started using them last year and I absolutely love them. Two deer last year with them. Passed through them no problem. Left a blood trail like you wouldn't believe . Neither of them went over 50 yds. I just bought 2 new packs with replacement blades so I am ready for this fall!

I have used them for two season, but I do shoot a heavy setup. I have had zero issues with them. Some have had issues when they have shot one in the shoulder.

I've used the GrizzTricks for two seasons as well. I've killed 6 deer, an antelope and a multitude of pigs without any problems. With that said, if I am able to purchase a leftover elk tag in Wyoming this year, I will be shooting the original magnum heads as I do believe that the steep blade angle and wider cutting diameter could affect penetration. I shot a mule deer doe at 52 yards and the arrow passed through... barely and was laying on top of the grass. I also shot a doe that was strongly quartering to, my arrow entered on the shoulder and exited in front of the opposite side rear leg. They create massive blood trails and I'll have zero issues putting them in my quiver for anything except elk hunting and in all honesty... they'd probably be just fine for that too.

    Crossbow

My Dad has not tried the ST Grizz Tricks with his crossbow but he does have the new Xbow Tricks. Same Design as Magnums but 175 Grains. They fly great but he has not shot anything with them yet.
