So for the past week I have had this skunk stealing dog food out of the pen at my house, and my dog seems to have gotten into it with the skunk at some point. He stinks pretty bad, almost to the point of gagging when you smell him. Has anybody used any home made or store bought soaps or concoctions to get rid of the smell? Or at least tame it?

I finally figured out how the skunk was getting to the food thanks to one of my Covert cameras, so I set up a 220 conibear this afternoon. Around 10:00 I started smelling skunk, and sure enough I had the critter. So no more worries about the dog getting sprayed again, just gotta make him smell like a dog again...

Man IDK for certain but tomatoes? Bath him a lot with whatever you got. Citrus? Google it...

    Good Luck!

Combine 1 gallon of water, 1 qt. household hydrogen peroxide, ½ cup of baking soda, and 2 tsp. of liquid hand soap or dish detergent in a medium-sized bucket. The mixture should begin to fizz.

Wash your dog with the de-scenting mixture while it's still fizzing. Rub it into your pet's fur, and repeat the process until you have used up the entire mixture. Allow it to remain in your dog's fur for five to 10 minutes.

Rinse your dog to remove the de-scenting mixture and skunk spray. Dry your dog thoroughly. Repeat the process if any scent remains.

That's the one I have heard of, I just couldn't remember the recipe for it. My neighbor said he has used it before. Took two washes for his dog. Might have to try that one today

Close pin on the nose should work just fine. In all seriousness I hear tomato juice is the ticket. Good luck!

Lol I can't do that now, he's almost to the calm stage after 4 years. I'm gonna try that concoction this afternoon. He's due for his yearly vet visit, so I'm sure they would appreciate a stink free dog

Germ got sprayed twice in one day so he should be an expert on how to get rid of the smell. Lol
