I have two off the wall questions. Does anyone here wear ski googles when hunting in blowing snow or wind ? and , (this ones a little more wacky) Does anyone ever bring an MP3 player with pass some time we all know sitting all day can take a toll on your attention span.
I don't bring either, ski goggles would get into the way of my anchor point, and as for the mp3 player, no way. The main reason I hunt is to get away from technology and listen to nature. Your hearing is one of your best assets when hunting. jmho.
I sometimes bring my iPod for long sits in the early season, but I dont even think about it during rut. Ill run the cord under my clothes and I turn it down REALLY low and only put a bud in the ear opposite of the direction I think deer will approach from. Sometimes you need to kill the clock for a white...
Totally a no on the music for me at least i hear 99% of my deer before i see them sometimes without hearing them i never could spot them, games on the ipod for long sits are a different story though.
nah, ipod? its just a distraction, ski goggles would screw up my anchor point i would think. i put some games on my phone on silent for really really long sits, other than that, i generally like to be tech free. for entertainment i have a slingshot that sometimes gets pulled out on squirrels xD
Thanks for the comments , I like to see other peoples thoughts on things . Ive only ever brought my phone as well (good call Live2Draw) , but being my first year bow hunting im kinda curiouse of the ins and outs (trade secrets)
Is that what you call it ?? Listening to music is not something I would want to go in the stand. If you listen, nature "sings" a great song, all by itself !! Ski goggles- no. I agree with the anchor point issue. They're cumbersome. If you want some eye protection from wind and wind driven elements, go buy yourself a pair of motorcycle glass goggles. They're compact, "sporty" style sunglasses that have a weather strip type edge on them. They limit the wind in your eyes while riding down the highway and will do the same in stand. Since they are compact, they shouldn't compromise your anchor point much, if at all. You can get them in almost any finish glass, including clear and yellow. Check them out. Here is a link to one of the many models of the glasses I mentioned. Take note of the weather strip that "seals" your face to the glasses. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...age=1&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:8,s:0&tx=132&ty=52
