I have been playing with a design for some wraps for my arrows by the fletchings. Here is one I really like so what do you all think:
Guys.. I'm very impressed with this thing so far. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Wife and I took the girls to their first Bruins game and got to see the Boston put a beat down on the Penguins in an 8-4 insane game.. Also got to see Krejci get a hat trick AND have ringside seats for a classic hockey fight with Chara! What a night!
Went shed hunting and once again NO sheds found and very sad since DNR shot up one of my spots again. I did not even jump ONE deer. This spot usually holds a lot of deer. Jumped a herd of 60 or so about a month and half ago. I understand they have to check for CWD but I wish they would set up check stations for all hunters to check in. Test that way instead of shooting up the herds in one area. The do this during shot gun season so why not for the entire hunting season? So, to calm my anger down I went to the river with my camera and here are some of my pics: You all thought the Olympics was over! Here they are synchronized ice skating:
Not sure if I told you all. I bought some more land about month ago. Not a huge amount but it joins my property already. 17.6 acres Sent from my SM-S327VL using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Dawg- awesome wraps! maybe we can get some as a team and take pics with our arrows hunting? yeah your DNR guys must've talk to our stupid DNR and that dumbass idea of shooting everything that walks. Doesn't work. They have not been able to control it here in Wi. It keeps popping up in different parts of the state. Several years ago I talked with a neighbor where I hunt and he told me he caught DNR snipers trespassing on his land and shooting a whole bunch of deer. That Ideology failed up here. Get a hold of you legistlator and give him an ear full to get them to stop that nonsense. If you look where CWD was first found in the state and look where it had spread it still continues. How stupid. Lets see, really shoot eradicate all the deer ( like that's gonna happen) but yet the prion that causes CWD, can't be eliminated, it exists in the soil, so if the deer come back and eat what's in the soil those deer will get it. It's a vicious circle. Bootlegger, congrats on the land! that is awesome! and you'll put that tractor to good use.
I just got a survey. Looks like they must be potentially considering working on the elk population in MN. There’s a small amount in the northern corner I think but not many and not spread out. The survey showed some areas not far from me and asked my input. Since you guys probably have better idea since I have none, how do deer and elk get along? Any changes to deer patterns or anything them or just get along and coexist? Any other issues with having them around? I think it would be cool to have them near but always curious what the ripple effect could be Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hank can you stop them from going on your property to snipe? Or do they have a legal right to go anywhere?
Got blasted with another big storm last night... just finished cleaning up. we had close to 20" while the hilltowns got 30+". Messy day here!
NO not only do you have the right to stop them they are supposed to ask permission. When I talked with that guy they tried to cop an attitude and bully him but he pointed out, his property period. they had no right nor business being on his property and told them to leave. Just saying, call them out. contact a congressman/senator and tell them how screwed up their thinking is. Wisconsin went thru a real rough time with the CWD stuff. I don't think they are still out there killing everything that walks. CWD supposedly started in Colorado in the 60s from a sheep farm and some of the animals escaped which then spread to wild life. Colorado has had it since then and has spread across the country. Michigan just found CWD I think last year or the year before.
As of yesterday, Comanche is alive. I have no idea how old this warrior is but I’ve gotta say I’m pretty pumped to know there is a chance we get to match wits again this year. He’s certainly the oldest deer I’ve ever been able to hunt. My buddy also found his 2016 sheds last week on property just down the road and gave them to me. No sign of his 2017 sheds but getting to hold these is pretty cool.
Holy cow! that is an awesome find RJ! well boyz I'm pumped & bummed. I pulled by trail cam today. Pumped cuz I got a couple of nice 8/10 ptrs on video in middle of January. Bummed cuz my camera stopped working late Jan. So no more videos to see what has been going on. But there are alot more deer on the property that in years past. A healthy set of does and offspring hanging on the property. A real change since I've started having the farmer leave up some crops over winter. They are sticking on the property over winter which is good for the hunt. Brings the bucks. I've got 4 different bucks on video. Hopefully we have another year like this year.
Going to be a stud for sure Rick. Did some scouting this week on a new property. They are doing quite a bit of logging on it but there are going be some good hollows that will really help funnel the deer. Didn't find any sheds or see any deer but saw LOTS of SIGN.
