Well, my season is Officially over! Sorry I did not find my doe. I was unsure about the one my buddy found I really dont think that one was mine. I am happy that I put a nice buck down. I have not done that in a long time. I sure hope we pull it off again! Crossing fingers for good luck LOL.

Changing things up a little and hunting the field edge in a cedar/briar thicket. There is a heavy used trail at 25-30 yards. They usually come through right before dark. [IMG]

So looks like with that buck and there two does. We're still up like 55points. So they still need two does. Not including ILbuck Fergie. So with that we're over 100 up. Hopefully he enters it.

    Got it entered ILL BUCK!!

Well guys, not for a lack of trying....but we are done in IL and I wasn’t able to fill a second tag. I had around 210 hours in the stand this year, and 60 of those were after 12/1. Just couldn’t get it done.

I guess you can’t say it was a tough season after killing a 165” on opening day, but I can’t remember the last time I hunted that hard or that long without being able to fill some sort of a tag.

Congrats everyone on a hell of a season, I’m sure hoping we get to keep the group together for next year!!

Thanks Rick! Glad we got ILL Bucks entered... gives us a bit more breathing room. If Chago is correct, that gives us about 155 point buffer... another couple of weeks and it will be done. I wonder how many from team 4 are still hunting?
Is Rb the only member we still having hunting?

I'm having a tough year too. I've only saw three bucks all season. Shot at a young doe last Monday and discovered my scope was off. Got it zeroed back in now. I haven't given up. Next season will be better. Going to hunt on my son-in-law's 300 acres in NE Oklahoma.

I'm not equipped for this weather. Probably wouldn't hunt even if I was off.[IMG]

Definitely not a fun temp to try in. I think that’s about as low as I can do for some time. For our last month pretty much that was about as warm as it got. Finally a few days in 20s now for a heat wave.

That's right Turro... we were way below zero for a couple of weeks straight with windchill. 0-6 was the high w/out windchill. Then we got hit with a 60 degree day and everything flooded! down to frozen leaves.. totally crazy. cold again now. Lots of ice, etc. Supposed to get 5-7" overnight tonight.
I've been having 2-6 deer down at a time most nights when there's snow.
The nice 8 (not the super wide one) still had his rack as of Sat night... hope he drops in yard over the next few nights.

That’s some crazy weather. Never a dull moment. I’ve had a handful around now most night. Few regulars. Think everyone musta dropped here now cause haven’t seen an angler in maybe a week. Hopefully near for spring. Hope you get his rack. It’s awesome getting some history and meaning with particular bucks to up the interest and fun

well damn we hit the ground running right from the git-go. I just wish I'd been out a little more for some does but dang freezer bustin at the seams with too much food. Although RB I am envious you still get to go out.

Oh how do I load up a pic on here. My taxidermist just texted me a pic of my buck he just finished today. Looks awesome!

Cant wait to see him Hank! Mine should be done soon. The weather with the negative temps and ending date put me out of the hunt to fill my other tags. The lost doe did not help either. I gave her 110% looking for her but the blood ran out. I hate losing deer and it makes me sick to my stomach even though I know it is part of hunting. The good lord must be giving back to its other animals when we lose deer. It sucks though. I sure am proud to be a part of this team and hope that we can stay together for another year or MORE! You all have been really good hunters to hang with.
