Happy new year to you guys as well. Took me a while to realize it’s today. All my evenings are basically the same being home with the family and crashing long before anything exciting. If you’re going out be safe and have fun. One more month to go and we’ll see how things end here

Not sure where my deer went but still no luck seeing them during daylight hours. I will keep trying but only have 4 more hunting days left. I did get my buck officially scored after the mediatory 60 day drying period. He Pope & Young scored 143 6/8" and grossed 153 0/8" so he only shrunk 6/8 of an inch from when I measured him up. I will take it! My biggest buck to date and very happy to have him being put on the wall. He had 9 2/8" in deduction with one extra point and then side to side difference.

I think it’s close again too. Maybe a doe or little over if I’m thinking right, but that’s no guarantee. Definitely coming down to the end again

Who here still has the opportunity to hunt and still put points on the board? Just curious.

Me. Couldn't get out this past weekend. High was only 16 yesterday and this papa was babysitting grandkids and keeping wood on the fire.

I’m still after it. Been busted by does a couple times over the past few days, but out of town now till friday.

Will be back after it Fri-Sun. Will also be hunting 1/12-1/14 for our last three days of season. I’d like to think I can get a doe at least by then.

deer showing up everywhere around here... half rack in back yard the other night... another buck w/ no rack... 6 bucks on cam in spot where I shot my buck this year, and I saw a nice buck with a smaller buck and another deer (I could not tell if small buck or doe) walking up a driveway on my street Monday last light.
It's like they know that season is over and they just come of out nowhere... ghosts!

just a quick note. I'm heading out in a few minutes. looks real promising from a soybean plot still up. tons of deer sign, pee, scat, bedding near by. even deer scat under my stand. temp is 12 degrees, sunny and NO wind. should be an awesome afternoon. hope I pull through and put another 50pts on the board. will keep you all posted.
good luck to anyone else out there today.

well boys didn't happen for me today and my season comes to a close. I saw 6 doe this evening but they came out on the other end of the standing soybeans about 75 yrds away. Man it was quiet in the woods this afternoon with no wind finally. I was hoping a loner would come out by me from the woods but nothing. I think they were hitting the soy were there are the most beans left on the stalk. But good to see that many deer on the property at one time. I haven't seen that many deer together in a very long time. Maybe finally making a come back?
Anyway, good luck to the rest of you. Hopefully someone can get a doe and a few more points on the board. Pity to lose with so much success in our team. So get out there boys and get er done!
Happy New Year to everyone and may their families be blessed.

Same here. Supposed to hit 32 I think. After a couple weeks of barely anything over 0 and most nights -15 to -30 It pretty much feels like shorts and sandals weather. Should get some snow tomorrow night and then couple -20 nights again but at least a little taste of decent weather feels great. Had a few deer coming out and didn’t see any antlers so might take a quick walk to see if any sheds before the snow. Only had a mid size 8 and half 8 and few spikes around so not exactly promising but always worth a shot and kid is beyond excited to check, and mostly to get outside finally agaib
