Team 4 put another kill up. Anyone tracking the score? Remember they have a buck on the board with no score still.

Think I saw when everything gets scored we’re up by like 160 or just over. Tighter than what i was thinking but didn’t realize there’s the unscored one and he’s big.

Way to go RB with that. I lost a property that I hunted for 16 years and it is family owned so I figured I was still going to be good after pops passed. WRONG! The girls kicked me out and they said " I know you have taken care of dad and his property like no other person would but we don't want any more deer killed. You have always respected him and the property and we thank you for that." Now there is a chain across the road going into the pond they owned that he let anyone fish at and that hunting property has a chain over that road also. Sucks!

Nice buck Chago! I will be back out this coming weekend. I told the wife that I will be hunting hard every weekend to fill my last tags. I will get it done I hope. I have until January 13th or so.

Got my euro back over the weekend. Mine is in bottom and my daughter’s is above it. I forgot how nice he actually was for a mass deer. Lol

I used to skull cut the deer i find dead and the ones that I don't want to mount that I shoot. Now they are all euro mounted. Love them. Great and dark horns also.

Think they’re still waiting on like a 160 buck to get scored for it. Makes it a lot tighter but still nice lead

Stick with it bootlegger. I’m starting to get frustrated now. All my buddies are seeing and killing deer with him season here. I haven’t seen squat in weeks.
On a positive note, I just had a buck in backyard. Looked decent. If He makes this routine he’ll hit the dirt.

Sorry I haven't been very active in our thread this year. Thought I might give everyone an update on my season since my harvesting of deer is probably over for the year.....more than likely still not gonna harvest a doe off my farm this year.
For the first time in several years I didn't have any pics of a bonified shooter. The only one that had my interest was a buck that become known as the broken G3 buck. 20170922_070857.jpg

Fast forward to sometime in late Oct and a buck I am very familiar with showed back up. Didn't really have a name for this buck but last year my then 11 year old daughter just missed ending his story on sat of out muzzleloader season.

Well he left my life this fall about as fast as he entered it. After getting loads of pics of him in a short time he was killed by a neighbor north of me on the evening of nov 3rd. Here he is leaving my farm the early morning of the 3rd for the last time! IMG_0446.JPG

Just as he was leaving my farm forever just hours later a new buck showed up on the same camera!!

Started my annual rutcation on nov 3rd so it was hard hunting from there thru first gun here in Illinois. Due to days on end of north east winds that first week I was unable to hunt a lot of my better spots. So I was on the other side of the farm why this new buck was daylight active 2 nights in a row on a soybean plot of mine on the 6th and 7th.

Better stop now and start another post so this one is not so big.

Scoreboard shows about 300 points. But they still have a 150" deer not entered. So we're up less then 150 I believe. We could use a couple does up there to be sure. Don't get frustrated boys. Second rut should he hitting soon. Then the late season feeding. Find those food sources. For those who are allowed to bait. Get that corn out.

Finally on nov 11th I got back into historically my best spot, The Magic Tree! At about 7 30 a doe came running down in the bottom from up the hill and across the road. Well he was behind her and they were now at 20 yards but in the brush. Minutes later a couple other bucks came down over the hill and he snort wheezed and headed toward the other bucks, that was gonna give me my chance at a shot. Well he angled away from me more than I realized and when I shot it sounded good and he mule kicked like they do when you hit them good. However he walked 40 or 50 yards and stood, acting like a liver or gut shot deer. I could not tell where the hit was and as he finally walked off slowly following his doe I could not see any sign of a hit through my binos.
I waited about 30 mins and then wanted to get down and look at my arrow, it was covered...soaked in a dark red blood. There was a couple drops at the shot sight but none where he stood for several minutes and only 3 or 4 drops where on the trail he left on. My slider sight was on 26 yards and the range to the shot was 33 so I assumed a low shot also so the lack of blood bothered me a lot. Experience told my gut and my mind that this was not gonna end well!
