I would only be able to enter 2 of the booners and one at just 50 points....LOL

Seriously though one key for you guys has been complete team involvement it seems. The year my team won was the only year we had an active team from top to bottom of those on it! Makes a difference.

*I will admit though I've been blessed as I've never have had more than 2 or 3 guys on a team not be engaged....some teams/members have really been screwed by teams where 70% just don't log in ever again. Cannot believe that but it has happened.

Ya that was supposed to be the reason for the alternate program and the minimum post count. I agree it's annoying I had that before. My team at the end of the contest had like 3 pages of discussion. No one was checked in at all. It's ok. We're happy to lead by example and be champs again. Maybe next year people will follow our lead lol

2 years ago a guy on my team shot a nice buck... he never checked it in and never showed back up again. It was strange. Maybe it was a lie. Who knows.
We do have a very active team. Regardless of what is shot, big or small, it all helps. That’s what I love about it. Different areas of the country with different standards and expectations. Fergie buck or Booners, they are all trophies somewhere and they all put points on the board. I can only dream of someday laying eyes on some of the Bucks shot on our team and other teams in other areas in the country.
Any buck 3.5 or older in my area in Western Massachusetts, or In most of New England is a true trophy.l, esp with the bow.

dawg, that sux couldn't find that doe. and what is with that buck, what is he posing for the camera?! gonna be a beast if he makes it this yr.

I'm still planning on hunting mid to late Dec & early Jan for a doe. 4 day gun doe season opens next week. so I'll wait it out and get back out. the weather here is mild in the upper 40s/50s. I'd love some snow on the ground. I'll have to go out & check out my stand on the other property to make sure I have shooting lanes trimmed up.

yes it's good to be on a team where everyone is active chatting and shooting. would suck otherwise. that's the fun of it. too bad we don't do the yearly gtg like we used to. that was freakin awesome weekend and a chance to meet others from the sight, do some shooting and braggin rights. maybe some day they'll bring it back but without so much hype.

Hope anyone still hunting for a buck brings home some more points. good luck out there.

Had a familiar friend show up behind the house on Tuesday evening. Watched him last year early season and he disappeared after about 11/15. Didn't even make an appearance this year until this week. I watched him on Tuesday in the plot in the backyard for a good 10-15 minutes eating and nosing around does. Could have easily shot him off the back porch in the last few minutes of legal light but didn't think that would be good footage for the show and it wouldn't have felt like the "right" way to do it. Last pic is what I believe is him last year as a 3.5. Not the biggest deer ever but he'd be the first buck off my property behind the house and I'm just excited to have a target buck to hunt right now. It's only 6.5 acres and I've done a ton of work back there to hold deer.

Since shotgun season is in full swing through the weekend, I was already planning on hunting behind the house so I don't risk bumping one off the lease into the neighbors. I'll prob bail on work mid day tomorrow and hit it hard each day over the weekend. This buck or any doe that walks by is in trouble this weekend.

For me. I live right on a town line. Which is also a county line, which is also a wmu (hunting area) line. So I actually have one set of tags for behind my house. And another set for the property behind me on other side of road. The nice thing is the property I live on has a shotgun season. And the other side does not. And I'm literally the first property on the not side. So all of the orange army around here push everything. And always right after the gun season. That property is always really active. Actually I shot my buck on the last Saturday of gun season on this side. So while the Elmer fuds were marching around. I was on the other side of the street with my bow lol. Thank you orange army. My name in the B&C for eternity thanks you lol

I'll be out in the morning for a couple hours. This dang job of mine is getting in the way of hunting.

I basically quit hunting. I’ve gotten real lazy. Need to get my head out of my ass here and get out in the field.

Rick that’s a nice one would like to see a close up of him.

RB I hear you I’ve been pretty busy at work too. I’m gonna start carving out some time here to hunt. I have 30 days to tag a MN buck.

I've got until the end of February to hunt and I'm on vacation the week before Christmas. After that it will probably be Sundays only for me. I work 6 days a weekand usually about 68 hours.

End of February. What state are you in? Wow that's a long season. Our bow season is October 1 - Dec 31.

We go to middle of January here in Illinois. My doe was found today but she is destroyed by the yotes plus it has been to warm here so she is no good. I really hate losing deer and that is the only part of hunting that I dont like at all. SUCKS. She went over a mile from where I shot her and the shot was a tad high is what I was told. I lost blood at the half mile mark on her. The spot where she was found was not the route of travel that the blood trail was heading either. No wonder why I did not find her when I followed that trail.

Just talked to the new owner of the property I have been hunting. Got permission! Feeling much better about my chances of killing a couple deer.

Missed him by a little over an hour last night guys. I haven’t updated the time on the camera yet for the clock change…

Back at it tonight, he’s been in here five or six days out of the last seven…

That's a relief rbhunting. I've lost properties before. Crap feeling after you have put years into scouting and setting up the property.
