Yankton is a haul. We don’t make it too far past Watertown. Those bows look pretty nice is that what your shooting?

Gun season opens Monday here in MA. I'm hoping to get out for one more AM sit prior. Dinner w/ mom tonight.. serving Thanksgiving at the Christin Center here tomorrow with the wife and kids and another family followed by dinner with them, and then I have to leave Fri late AM for Cape Cod for my daughter's girl's hockey team tournament. Always a good time, but a solid 3 hour drive across the state. We are almost on the NY line... Cape is far east coast. It will be fun though.
My buddy can't open the MA gun opener. His family owns a ton of land south of me that holds some huge deer. He asked me if I wanted to go sit his spot. I said I'd just wait and go with him Sat when he could go. He says: "I'm not asking you to go Monday, I am telling you to go there!". So, I am going there! lol they shoot some nice deer on that mountain, so I am really looking forward to it (even though it is gun hunt). I'm not sure if I want to bring the smokepole or my shotgun... Leaning toward the smokepole.

Update on the score. I’ve been talking back and forth with the Official P&Y scorer nearest me. He’s about an hour away and with my work schedule and his, it’s been crazy trying to get together. As it stands right now, I’m probably going to have another older gentleman I know score the deer one more time. I’ve scored him several times and come up around the same score minus a couple inches. This old man used to be the scorer around our area but has quit doing it. He said he would do it for me so I hope this will be sit well with everyone. I’ll post score tonight after he scores it.

Boys, I don't know how these southerners do this. I am sitting in a blind at 8:45am, and I am sweating my ba!!s off.

Western, go give those deer some pole lol\

Andrew, no one is suspecting you of lying. So if you are re counting coming close. And you get a second guy to make sure your measuring from the right spot, and still are coming close. I would post the score you came to and that is it. Sometimes pictures are deceiving. Post the measurements in here first so we can all review with you. And if it looks good to all of us, you can post it.

Sounds good Andrew. Looking forward to have it finished and set. I think you’ve got to be pretty close within inches.
Western id say smokepole. I haven’t got to hunting with mine yet but it’s on my list. Love shooting them
Good luck in the heat Chago. I’ve done just over 90 here and that was pretty ridiculous to me. Can’t imagine what some do it in. But now I’d love to be out more in any weather.

I hate hunting in the heat.. however, I have shot plenty of deer in warm weather!
I haven't shot a deer with any other type of gun other than smokepole in at least 7 years...

    lol....congrats Chago!

Guys - I'm going full court press on a doe this weekend. I haven't had a deer older than 1.5 on camera for more than two weeks. I suspect my better bucks will be back for the food I planted in the next week or two, so over the Thanksgiving weekend I'm going to give it my best to tag a doe for the freezer when I don't have any bucks around to spook.

Good luck to those of you hunting over the weekend, we have some great weather so I'm hopeful a few of you have some success!

Ya boys we had another stellar year. I think with a couple more kills we will put this way out of reach. And I'm pretty sure we set a new team record.

Ya Andrew looking at the measurements I don't think anyone can argue that. The math adds up. And those g2 are super long. Well done man!
