    I had to go with the hat and break it in. Forgot to on the earlier one so wasn’t gonna miss again. She turned out to be a bigger one than I thought. Was seriously thinking little but guess this was a great time to see small and end up better.

    Finally had straps last night. Too busy night before so didn’t get to much at all, but tasted amazing last night.

    My older kid was excited to clean a deer with me but was gone when i cleaned it so told him he could help me clean the skull. He was good with that.

    After hearing the comments on trophy does we’ll have a doe trophy for our non trophy room. Got a buddy just getting into taxidermy business that’ll do the boiling and whitening. I did one before but nice to hand them off too.
    Rifle opener was yesterday. Heard a few shots. Neighbor called not long after sunlight wondering if I shot a doe. Nothing like waking up and having a doe shot 50 yards from the house. Poor thing was barely alive with birds picking her backside apart. At least he got the deer but wish game warden woulda dug more into shooter since I’m 99% sure. Just more reason I’m glad to be done for the season

    Got Lena’s skull back today. Came out great! She’s pumped. One of the largest actual skulls of all of our euro mounts. Dropped Thursday’s buck skull off today as well along w 2 older on s to have whitened up

    Went out today and had the same doe and yearling come in to the opposite side of the corn field from me. Rain started to fall so I started to grunt and use the doe bleat can. Next thing I see is a buck about the same size as my one I got this year. I am not sure if he felt like something was not right or if he saw me move. He stood there staring at me for a few minutes then he did the "Something is not right" walk for about 10 yards then he trotted off the opposite way. I hope he comes back this next weekend when I can get back out.

    I just messed up on a buck in NY. Hit him back and low. Happened quick. Hit him back and low about and hour and half ago. He kicked and when about 30 yards. I could see about 6-8” of gut hanging out if his stomach and a lot of blood Gonna back out and come back later

    I’m rooking out in SD! Got in stand and realized I had Left my release in bow case this afternoon had to run back and get it. Couldn’t do fingers and if I get a chance on the buck I’m hunting I want to close the deal!

    Hope he comes back Dawg. A week with doe on his mind and he might not remember a thing.
    Western hope it works out well. Sounds like definitely gonna be a dead buck and hopefully trailing some blood to find him, and hopefully he beds fast. Looking forward to how it goes
