I brought my boy out last night. He got busted by a nice 8 reaching for his bow and it came running by me. I couldn't get him to stop. Chalk it up as a learning experience for Max.

I leave for SD tomorrow to say I'm excited is a ginormous under statement. I'll keep you guys updated on the hunting.

Thanks guys. I’ll put a tape to him when I get him back from butcher. He has good mass and time length. Brows won’t score well! Lol.

I knew you had one down this AM when I looked at my phone and you had 2 posts already. Congrats again.

How many bucks does that give us now? Anyone keeping track?

4 bucks. We need a few more and a lot of does and we are right in the mix on this thing again.

I texted Hank the other day and he's waiting on an update from his taxidermist. If I need to I'll drive up to meet Hank and score it myself, he's only about an hour away from me.

Back in the stand this afternoon. The one I should have been in yesterday. It's a little windy and a toasty 80 degrees. Hoping to get something just before dark.

Out again too. They’re chasing good and with rifle coming Saturday I’d love to hit today or tomorrow and be set

Hoping tomorrow brings this to a finish. It was a smaller doe I knew I hit a little back but not bad and nice pass through. We got out after good blood, then back and forth sketchy and good. After maybe first 50 yards we had bobcat prints on the trail. That went on for some loops then they trailed off of it and we kept on some scarce blood. Debated holding off til tomorrow. Then heard a wolf howl. This is within a few hundred yards of where I got the pics of both and there’s fresh sign daily. So we decided to push on. Some wolf prints crossed the blood path but didn’t really follow it. Decided after to hold til morning and hopefully goes better then and she’s not eaten. If it weren’t for the tracks we woulda held off earlier, but not sure what’s better to push her and lose her or leave and find eaten. Really not what I expected. Hope it has a good ending

Turned out better than expected. Drove to a little plot I was working on near where we backed out. Crossed more wolf prints but they turned of with some other trails. Walking to last blood saw a trail that looked rushed. Went ten yards and on blood. Twenty more and found her, missed by any critters. I’ll get pics in a bit just wanted to update it went good

Gonna be a tasty dinner for sure. Plenty of aches from that track job so gonna appreciate it even more. Can’t say this season went as hoped or expected but got a nice pile of meat and done now before rifle or too much frustration and had some great times along with frustrating ones. Now I can focus on some trapping and see if I can’t get something that way too

Yes !!! Wearing the champions hat. I'm actually pissed cause I opened my bag here at camp and realized I left my champions hat at home......

Well boys. Checked all the stands today. Ready for our first sit this evening. Deer sign all over the place. Every stand has tons of sign. We even bumped some nice deer mid day today. Spent some time glassing and saw tons of does and then just a minute or two behind a bucks. So you know the boys are starting to follow closer to the ladies. Can't wait. Expecting a great hunt.

nice job Turro. Big ol girl!
I still have one buck tag left in MA, and a buck tag and a few doe tags left in NY.

Temps supposed to drop to 32 w/ frost from current 65 tonight. Tomorrow AM should be a good sit. I can't hunt tonight or tomorrow night due to other obligations. I plan on hunting Sunday afternoon in NY and then Monday / Wed afternoon. Then heading to visit wife's family w/ kids in Pittsburgh Thurs-Sun. Hopefully I can fill a tag in NY on Sunday. I am shooting any non yearling deer while there... weather it be a good doe or "fergie"... or both! haha.. I still have a decent 8 and a big boy where I shot this buck yesterday. Other spots all dead.
Bear season reopens next Monday and I have a 300+lb bear still hanging where Lena shot her buck. We may go plug him next week as well.
