Going to change the scenery up for this afternoon's hunt. Hopefully that will change my luck. [IMG][IMG]

Walked my boy out to the stand . When I walked back into my Mom and Dads yard there was a buck standing in the yard. Hopefully he circles back and presents a shot for Max. They’re picking corn to the South and East of us.

Well, thanks to a buddy on helping me track and a few text and calls to ****ie Tunes I found my buck. It was a great morning and I said my prayers as I normally do in the stand. This was only my second day out since my sisters passing. I talked to her a little bit and told her to bring me a big buck. I was sitting there waiting for a deer to even show. Then I saw 4 deer across the field and it was the doe that had triplets. Nothing else had showed and I had lots of things I needed to get done so that I could watch some football. Since I was not seeing any deer I decided to get down. Then as I was starting to get ready to send my bow to the ground I spotted a doe heading my way. Next I saw a little yearling running around behind her. I was watching the doe and my heart was racing. I then saw a buck behind the doe. The yearling started to walk towards the buck and then he chased off the yearling. At that point the doe had walked right under my stand. I was saying "Please don't smell me or see me" and she was so close I could spit on her. She walked by and then here came the big boy. I turned on my tactacam and then forgot all about keeping my bow up to video him. I did get him when he came in and I took the shot. The buck ran around to the front of the doe. When he stopped he was standing side ways to the doe. She hunkered down and then started to walk back to me. The buck started to walk back and I said "there is no way he is coming back to me". I was WRONG! He walked back into my shooting lanes again and I put a second arrow in him. He ran off and stopped at the field entrance road. He acted like he was going to fall but did not. He then walked off onto someone else property. I called the owner and he stated that he did not want me to go on the property for 3 hours and then I can go get my buck. He did not want me to push him off and then be left on his property. Totally understand! I was waiting and my friend and I decided to walk back to our trucks. When we were walking across the bridge we saw him on the edge of the creek with his head up still. We waited for 3 hours then went to see if he was still in that location. The buck had moved. We did not find much blood from the bed on and I was really disappointed. We did not give up and then my buddy went into a thicket and yelled "I have Blood". When we got heavy in the thicket the blood started to pick up. After going around 100 yards in this thicket and some times we were on our hands and knees going through it we came to a spot that we did not find any more blood. The thicket was so thick that we were only 5 yards from the buck and it took us about a minute before we saw him. I was really excited beyond belief! I have MANY cuts all over my body from walking in the thicket. One cut on my forehead was bleeding so bad I kept wiping the blood off so that I can see. The buck was dragged out for pictures then off to the taxidermist tomorrow after I SCORE him for the TEAM! Here he is:

Been a slow season start for me... have had some opportunities but have not taken the shot or passed on the shot waiting for one of the big ones.. hope it doesn't come back to haunt me... getting CRAZY at work... my head is spinning. I have a this Thurs and Friday off and a couple of afternoons blocked off over the next couple of weeks... but it seems to be getting busier and busier here at the office and i'm getting a bit frustrated... fingers crossed I can make it count soon.

My buddy did manage to shoot a big high 6 point (no brows) over the weekend that dressed 198lb. that is a large buck for these parts.

I will be heading out in the AM to try my luck again! I hope to fill another buck tag! That would be nice to do but I think if I got another one that would be just as big as my other one the wife would say NO to two at the taxi. LOL

    awesome job Dawg!!! fantastic buck.
Nice day today..... sitting in my office again. can't hunt tonight due to trick or treat with the kids... then meetings all day tomorrow and I have to be at the attorney's office w/ my attorney and my ex wife and her attorney to discuss things at 5pm!!! I swear the Gods are against me this deer season... I can't catch a break.
My buddy shot his biggest buck of his life last night (nice 8) and another took a nice buck last PM too.
