Good luck Chago... Supposed to be in the 70s today and tomorrow here again... I'm gonna slip out tomorrow AM and then wait until the cold snap next week with a rain front coming in.
Had a nice 8 I've never seen on my trail cam from last night show up... just 1 pic of him, but 2 fresh scrapes.

 

Just got back from SD got stands set snd check cameras. Twelve days until we go back can’t wait! Hoping to put a big boy down here before we leave.

No luck Sunday evening. I did see a fresh scrape 40 yds from one of my stands as big as a car hood. Winds were cool and calm this morning so I hunted a stand close to the house. I had to work today so I could only hunt a couple hours. Planned to get down at 9:00. At 8:55, a young doe snuck in behind me. Didn't take her because I needed get in bed. On vacation next week and the weather man is calling for frost this weekend!

Had a big doe come in Tonight. I passed because the monster and a nice 8 have been there the last few days. Didn’t want to scare the spot up. Ugh

Well guys, I’m done with my first Kansas trip and it was a total bust as far as the hunting . Had a blast, and think we are dialed in on a couple of big deer we would be pleased to take on our next trip in late November. Just didn’t have the weather in our favor at all.

With that said I’m going to get after it hard here in Illinois for my second buck. Comanche is still alive as of a few days ago, and I had another new giant 8 pointer show up as well.

Good luck to those still chasing a buck, And I’ll provide more updates as the season progresses.

 

The weather is shaping up nicely for my vacation. Saturday 27/46, rest of the week mid to upper 30s for lows and highs not more than 60 all week. I should get us some points and me some meat in the freezer. The bucks are in the seeking phase around here. I've seen and killed my best bucks around Halloween every year.

Wanted to get out but few things came up and didn’t. Did get to watch a little 6 chase around a couple does for a while, so not bad. They didn’t make it to the stand I was gonna sit so worked out. Checked cams today. Found tons more wolf sign, and wheeler tracks past an empty tree where my cam was. Not happy but with gun season coming up and the wonderful people near here I’m not shocked. Other ones didn’t have anything exciting. Picked up a few traps from a buddy and grabbed my licenses and gonna see if I can’t get something with those. Hopefully a new addiction.

Haven't been out since Monday. I hope to get out this afternoon weather permitting and then Sat & Sun.
My buddy shot a small 10 point yesterday in MA and people are starting to report more buck activity. I took next Thurs & Fri off as well as the following Fri and blocked off a couple of afternoons in between. Supposed to be an absolute washout Sunday and Monday here though.

 

I’ve been holding out for better conditions. Friday afternoon is looking pretty good right now. Temps dropping through the day today, snow tonight and tomorrow morning then I’m in the stand. It’s hard being patient hopefully it pays off.

light persistent rain here... but I think i'm going to go anyway. Can't tomorrow night as wife and I have plans.
