Finally feeling little more like hunting time is close. Some cooler mornings and helped a buddy clean his bear he got for opener last night. I'm gonna have to make sure to get a tag again for that next year. Two weeks to go

I've been nursing a sore shoulder all summer. I finally dusted off my bow and tried to shoot over the weekend. Looks like I will be hunting with a crossbow from now on.

Gotta do what you gotta do rbhunting.. just stay out there no matter what!

Bear season opens today.. rainy.. severe thunderstorm warnings later... we'll see how the afternoon shakes out and if my daughter and I get out... otherwise, we prob won't get out till Sat am due to my work week and other commitments ahead this week.

Glad you have an option rb. Hope the shoulder improves. Definitely want that good for day to day everything.
Hope it works you for you and your daughter western. If you guys don't get out today good luck for Saturday. I got some of the trimmings from my buddy for cleaning his with him and made some burgers yesterday. I really have to get out next year again. Gotta say that's my favorite meat so far

I bet. I think bear taste and texture has been my favorite game. I want to try doing some of my own next time. Had polish and summer sausage made first time that were great and second time I think the summer sausage had a little too much pork/fat in it but still was really good. Wish I could get one every year but hopefully get out every other or travel a little and get to

Well... last night was a bust... got in the stand and settled in and about 5 min into it there were a couple huge thunder claps over us and the sky just opened up and dumped on us.
She made the decision that we weren't sitting in the tree during a thunderstorm and we made our way back to the truck and were completely soaked. We went home and she and her sister went on to fall softball practice :)
I won't be able to get out much at all until deer season opens, so we'll see what happens.. we had a good time though, regardless.
2 buddies shot them last night.

First good buck from SD. My buddy went out and set his 5 cells and pulled the cards on the others unfortunately the cams didn't get fresh batteries in Nov when we left them. So we didn't get much off them.

I still have to get out there and set my 5 cells. I'm slacking

I'm back in the game. I picked up a Center Point sniper 370 today. I'll get it zeroed in tomorrow. I knew that someday I would have to switch to a crossbow, just didn't know it would be this soon.

Glad to hear. Whatever it takes. More than likely a good chunk of us will come to a time where it's that or stop and it'll be too early to quit. Wish I woulda gave one a try when I separated my shoulder few years ago. Messed up most of my season and dr woulda gave me permission. I'm curious to shoot one sometime. Just to see. Got a few older buddies that have them

Got two more bucks on cam. One I have been watching for a while now from velvet to now hard horn. Here is a picture of him in velvet. If I knew how to get a nice video loaded to use on here OTHER than photobucket then I would be ok. I am going to delete my account with them and start over. I am having all sorts of issues with photobucket. Anywho here is the two bucks:
