Well, I went out Friday and Saturday and did not see even a single deer! Sunday I decided to give goose hunting and duck hunting one last shot before duck season ends on 12-20-2016 "Today". It was a very COLD or should say FREEZING hunt. It was 0 degrees out and with the windchill I would say it was around -14. On the plus side of things we tagged out a 4 man limit on geese. We went in for lunch and then went back out for ducks. We saw thousands of ducks and geese. The ducks were not wanting to finish but then something really crazy started happening. One of the guys dropped a Black Duck. We were so happy for him. About an hour later another flock of ducks came in. We all noticed that there was two black ducks. My buddy to my right missed the first shot and then I smacked the Black Duck. My other buddy got the second one. We dropped both of the Black Ducks out of the flock. For the afternoon hunt we dropped three Black Ducks, 3 Drake Mallards, and one Mottled Hen Duck. To me that was a GREAT day! I killed two geese and a Black Duck. good luck guys! I'm going to try to get out tomorrow afternoon and a day or 2 next week before season ends

 

Good luck to you guys. Hope to see it work out for some or all. I've still been feeling like crap. Our house has been just sick. Wife and kid with strep this week and other kid hopefully just a cold. It's been driving me nuts not getting to get out to do anything let alone hunt. If I can be functionally better for next week I could hit 4 afternoon sits which I'm hoping for still. Really getting down to the end. These are the days I love getting out too

On one plus side I got my replacement trail cam already. If I get to getting out can put that out again. Not sure if Bushnell impresses me with doing well with so many replacements or it's horrible how many have been needed

Today was the first time this year that I turned off my alarm and dont remember even doing it. So, I woke up when I wanted to be in the tree. Normally I have a few of them days during the season since I hunt a lot for Deer and Waterfowl as much as I can. I will be out for sure in the morning unless I get mandated at work. LOL

 

All day yesterday not one deer even seen! Going on another goose hunt this morning and then next weekend we will see what happens. I need more snow again since ours is almost all gone and we just have ice right now.

Merry Christmas Eve from the couch. Good luck out there. Gotta say I'm more than a little jealous. Be an awesome time for luck to hit. I've been mildly improving so took family on our snowmobile and cat kutter for a ride around and grabbed my other trophy cam. As figured that'll be sent back too. At least consistent. Hopefully getting outside wasn't a bad choice and can recover for this week. Got to check out near the stands I was thinking of sitting and some tracks so could have potential. We'll see. At least it was a fun time out.
