I just wanted to show up for now. I am having the worst luck since the first of October! What issue do I start with first? Well, I shot a 130 class 8 point and could not find him. I then found one of my smaller bucks dead. I then spotted a buck bedded down on a small island in a creek about 1/2 mile from my stand. The buck was there for three days straight bedding on that island. One time the buck was even in great stalking position. I had my camera instead of my bow due to the property not being owned by my property owner. I am not going to go on another property to take a deer when I do not have permission to do so. As much as this guy was inviting me to be his forever owner! As a hunter you have to respect other hunters and other property owners. That is the only way we will get the respect from the ones that dont hunt. NOW FOR THE BOMB! I had a very nice buck come in and I soft grunted at him to get him to stop. When he stopped I let the arrow fly for him to pin wheel at the same time. I gave him a hair cut and cut. There was no blood on my arrow just hair and some meat marks. Here is the pictures of the buck bedded on the island. Two different days with one photo from one day and then 4 from the other and that was the day I could of taken him at 20 yards. The only way he turned is because I was talking to him as I was videoing him. I could not believe that he just stayed there. I will have to try to get the video of the big boy since I am having issues adding the video.

Been really slow on my NY hunt. I've been seeing a lot of small 1.5 year old bucks. A couple shooters, but out of range. Nice work everyone. I'll be driving home tonight after I get out of woods

I will be doing one more bow in the morning before this shotgun season that is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I sure hope that my boys stay safe after tomorrows hunt if I am not blessed to take them tomorrow. I will be shotgun hunting in southern Illinois and hope that my luck changes since I am still looking for my first one this year. This year has had some crazy warmth so far and looks like I might be changing my luck in late season. I am the type of hunter that will push my luck till the end if I have to so dont worry about me not getting any points for us. I should get some or at least I hope that god will let me take one out of his herd.

I wish I was putting this guy on the scoreboard. Reports are this is a public land buck taken in Weddington WMA near Siloam Springs, AR. I used to hunt there regularly. May need to go back.

Where at in Southern Illinois? And you aren't going to keep the bow in the stand?

    Good luck guys...
I have until the end of next week for MA bow... I hope to get out Sat am and a couple of afternoons next week.
Gun season opens the Monday after Thanksgiving... the orange army will be everywhere.. I may sneak out for a bit in the am or pm, but all hell breaks loose once the drives start, etc.
NY rifle opens this Sat. I may bring one of my daughters Sunday am and let them shoot a doe or something... we'll see.
I just don't get excited about gun season any more... i'm a bow hunter through and through.

I will by by Mt Vernon, IL and I will have my fire stick! That is a guarantee for two deer for the freezer. I much rather take does with the gun and bucks with bow but the way my season is going I need the meat right now. If I could take both in the stand with me I would but I believe that is against IDNR Rules.

Hey guys - As best I can tell, we might be winning this thing right now? But we have 3 bucks and a doe that need to get entered for the points to officially count.

Don't mean to be pushy, but can we get those deer posted? I believe berwickbuckmaster, ILL Buck, and Chago all have bucks that need posted plus Chago has a doe as well?

Right now Team 26 is in the lead with 921 points. Even if we average 100" for each of our bucks we will be well ahead...........

I was just thinking the same thing... these 3 bucks and doe are definitely going to make a huge difference.
I need to get us another 50 points with a doe or another buck in the next week and a half.
Next deer I see gets it... regardless of size, etc.
I had fun in NY.. saw a lot of young deer. I could have shot buck(s) every sit and plenty of does, however, only can shoot 125"+ and / or mature deer (cull) at this place. Unfortunately, one of my guys missed one and another shoulder shot a big one and was unable to recover. I saw a couple of legit shooters, but too far out on does. Only little guys in range.
