Finally not a whiny failing post from me. 4 years ago I got my first deer and decided if I had a shot tonight I was taking it no matter what and a nice doe decided to break my two year slump. I'll post a little more when I get done cleaning and I'll get it on the scorecard [IMG]

Got it cut up and in fridge. Pretty happy with a good clean kill again. After yesterday sitting with the gun and seeing a doe come from the kill plot I figured I could sit there and get a nice close shot. All came together perfect as hoped. Nice pass through. Rage hypo went through two ribs entering and another shattered exiting. Arrow broke off a third and that with my nocturnal stayed inside her. That surprised me. She only made it maybe 50 yards and heard her fall. Can't say a big buck wouldn't have been better but like I said after a crappy miss this year and a year of fails last year my heart was racing as good as a buck coulda done and I'm more than pumped to have a pile of meat, and so is the wife which is better than anything. She was even happier it was on the little plot I've been working on ("wasting time") little bits for the last two years and it turned out pretty good and effective

That's an awesome first deer. Definitely sets the bar high. Congrats to your dad.
Congrats to your granddaughter too rbhunting. I love seeing pics of firsts and happy kids with them.
And congrats to Chago on the doe. Sorry to hear about the bow. Hope it didn't mess too much up. That's not the kind of luck anyone needs

Chago... better get that bow restrung ASAP.
Turro, the pic w/ the little guy is great!

Went Friday AM, Saturday AM, & Sat PM and didn't see a deer. Crazy because that spot had bucks almost every am and pm on cam. I'm going to try to get out for last 1.5 hours of light today and tomorrow, work permitting.
I can't hunt Wed and am going to Pittsburgh w/ the family Thurs - Sun. I am cutting back on way home separately and heading out to Western NY for my annual hunting trip from Monday - Thurs.
They have been seeing some whoppers... we know they are there... just need a little luck on our side.

Congrats Rick. Can't wait to see the pics. Gotta be a nice one. I'm liking how the points are adding up, and still lots of season and spots to fill

Hey guys. Got him entered this morning.

Unfortunately after I shot him, he got tied up between two trees. He snapped his right side G4 off and lost about 4" in the process. I have the whole thing on video, you can even hear the tine pop. Spent over an hour looking for it but it's nowhere to be found. He still went 152 1/8" though even with the broken tine, so I'm super happy with that.

Pics for those of you interested.........
